A mom came on today because her son swallowed a battery. As the situation resolved she did one step better and posted another thread to update what had happened.
Last time I checked there were 17 responses and all of them were wonderful. It was awesome to see all the "I've been praying", "He's been on my mind all day," and "Thanks for letting us know". It was such a blessing to read and if it was for me, I can imagine it was much more so for the mom.
Yup, people on here can sometimes get catty, for sure. There are folks who like each other and folks who don't . There are folks who agree strongly and disagree vehemently. But at the end of the day, support is always found on this site when you need it.
It's the best of Mamapedia and the best of Mamas (and Dads). And all in all it's a really great thing!

I did see the update & although I didn't respond to it myself, I was also relieved after having read the original post. I agree with everything you said (as usual) about some of us being catty from time to time, but that overall support can be found for those who truly need it.
I love when people give updates like that. I wish they would happen more often!

I did see the update. Great support here on Mamapedia today. I'm sooo glad to hear that he will be ok and that the other scenario that could've played out didn't. I was watching sesame street w/my 3 yr old lil guy this morning when I came across her question...my heart just sank & I hugged my lil guy just a little bit tighter.
