Hi moms I was wondering if any of you give your children airborne jr? I have 4 children three in school. Unfortunately they are forever getting cold 2 of them have asthma so whenever they get a cold their astma also acts up. My kids already take a vitamin but I have seen these advertised and i wondered if they actually work. Look forward to hearing from all of you that have tried these. thanks ahead of time Steph

Hi S.,

My 6 year old son usually gets several colds during the winter which leads him to miss many days of school. At the first sign of his first cold this winter, I bought airborne jr. and his cold only lasted 2 days!!! He was in wrestling and had very close contact with other boys carrying many germs and has only come down with that one cold and sniffles once. Last year of school, I believe he missed around 15 days. So far this year, he has only missed 2. I only give it to him at the first signs of him feeling unwell and before a wrestling match. That to me shows that airborne jr work well not only to keep the germs away but to stop the cold when he does get one. Plus the fact that he likes the taste. I hope this helps.

I am a single mom of a 6 year old boy and I started using airborne for him and me after he had 2 bouts of Strep throat. He was sick the whole month of December and was on antibiotics for over 30 days. It was a mess. I started with the airborne and so far so good he has been doing really well. I would recommend it, Connor seemed to pick up every germ all the time and we were always battling with stuffy noses and fevers. Since December we have been sniffle and fever free!!!!! That in itself convinced me.....I have never gone more than about 3 weeks with Connor not getting something during the winter. I hope it works as good for you as it has for us! Good Luck.

AIRBORNE IS WONDERFUL! Not only do I take myself when I am getting sick, I give it to my kids (when they will drink it) and it knocks the cold out in half the time. Basically, it's just a very high dose of vitamin C. It's kinda like alka seltzer only flavored. You just put it in water and drink it. I highly recommend it.

Just an added note for anyone who reads this. If you are sensitive to artificial sweeteners and/or chemicals, Airborne uses artificial sweetener in it. Because of that I can't use it myself and choose not to give it to my son. My personal experience is that artificial sweeteners cause major health problems. Kids get colds. It is a total pain, I know.
I've been doing all kinds of alternative health type wellness stuff and my child is down to 2 bouts of cold/illness per season. It's not cheap, but the nebulizer, albuterol, and cold symptom meds are not cheap either. We were there before and it is horrible. (I have expensive health insurance that barely covers anything).

S., I cannot imagine having 4 sick kids in the house at one time...you are supermom! I want to know what YOU take to keep healthy and keep going!

Just be careful they are not getting too much of any of the vitamins included in both the airborne and the multivitamins. Check the recommended daily dose and do not overdose which can make kids sick too. Check with your doctor they will be able to tell you how much is too much!

Hello S., I am a single parent of 2 boys one 9 1/2 and one soon to be 18 months. I give my 9 1/2 year old airborne now for a few months and he has not had a sore throat or the sniffles since. He loves the flavor and has no problem taking it. For him it seems to be working. My son also has asthma.

They work great, but I highly recommend getting the generic version of the adult Airborne and just using half a tablet. The Jr. version is a horrid grape tasting concoction and my two girls absolutely hate it. I tasted it too, myself to see what all the fuss was about and it's just gross. They love the original orange flavor of the adult tabs and the generic versions are he exact same formula as the Jr.

Good Luck!

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but clinical studies have shown that airborne doesn't work any better than a placebo. Also, it carries a very real possibility of Vitamin A poisoning if used as directed. I think the Zicam products and other zinc cold medications have some better clinical results.
