Affordable, but Excellent Private School in Conroe for a 5 Yo

My son is in a private Kindergarten at Children's Lighthouse and doing well, but my family is moving to Connroe to be closer to my husband's new job. We don't know much about the area and are particularly concerned with finding an affordable, quality school for my son. Children's Lighthouse admitted him to Kindergarten when he was 4, so he really should be in Pre-K, but is fairly advanced for his age. He turned 5 in February, so he can't be in public school yet, I have heard. We are looking for the school to be somewhat close to the hospital in Conroe. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Let me be the first to say, "Welcome to Conroe."

Both my boys attend St. James Episcopal School off of 105 in Conroe. It would be a 10 min drive from 336 (near the hospital) as it intersects 105. They are AMAZING. It goes to the 6th grade. Classes are small, so they get LOTS of one on one attention.

Call the School and speak to Paulette Berry, the's the Director of the Day School. She will set up a tour/interview for you. Their school website is www.stjames-conroe.org

Best of luck!

My beautiful 2 year old goes to The Depot, which is part of The First Assembly of God Church in Conroe. It's about 5 mins from the hospital and we love it. They have a school which is called Lifestyle Christian and a Daycare called The Depot. They have been in Conroe for over 15 years and the lead Director Mrs. Angela Colby is wonderful. It's a very family environment with good values, good teaching and learning skills, and ethics. They love to do tours.

My cousin sent her daughter to Lifestyle Christian School for Kindergarten and First Grade, until they moved out of the area. She loved it and Megan seemed to as well. We plan to send our son there when he is of age.

Good Luck!

There is a great one in Conroe called Lifestyle Christian School, my son is there in the 3 year old program and he is thriving. My mother in law is the director of Early Childhood development for The Depot, which is their daycare that follows the Cirriculm that the school does as well, and they have a K-4 and also Kindergarten, It's worth looking into. Thier contact info is The depot, Angella Colby is the Director of Early Childhood Development, she can be reached at ###-###-####. Just tell her that You got the lead from M. Colby, I am sure she will be moer than happy to sit down and talk to you and give you any information you need as well as a tour of the school and show you what they do. They are located on the north side of Conroe right by Cracker Barrel. Please let me know if you need anything else.
I hope this helps give you some leads!
