I had tiny cysts on my right ovary, I believe smaller than a centimeter, but I could definitely feel the pain. The doctor did an ultrasound and then put me on an anti-inflammatory. Best of Luck!
Hello Beautiful Mommies! I am back for some advise from you wonderful moms. You see for a few months now I had some pains in my ovaries. (I think that's where the pain is at) Most of the time the pain is only on one side. On July 12, I went to get my annual women exam and I told the nurse and she felt them and said they felt fine. That she did not feel anything wrong with them. Well since then I had the pain on and off but this week I think since Monday or Tuesday they have been feeling swore. Now many of the websites that I have searched this it says it can happen when you are ovulating. According to my math I was ovulating this weekend so that might be why it was hurting but the other times I don't think I was ovulating. Has anyone had this happen to? Do you know why I can be feeling this? Any advise will be appreciated. I do have a 3 year old that was born via C-Section because she was breech. Do you think that has anything to do with it? Any advise or comments are greatly appreciated.

You could possibly have a cyst on your ovaries. Sometimes they dissipate on their own but other times they remain cycle after cycle or they can burst which is quite painful.
You may want to pus the issue with your doctor. I had a similar pain and my ob/gyn suggested a pelvic ultrasound just to confirm whether there are any cysts, etc.

I agree with the other moms. It sounds like it might be a cyst on your ovary. You wouldn't be able to feel it. I had a very small cyst on one of my ovaries when i was pregnant that was found during the internal ultrasound. I wouldn't trust the nurses opinion either. I always save my questions for the doctor.
I have had this happen. I will say, it does start a few days before ovulation and goes away after ovulation. It's been going on so long now that I know it coincides with ovulation. When you ovulate and your ovary releases and egg, it creates a water filled cyst. Sometimes it would be so painful and uncomfortable that I would tip toe around the house (it felt extremely heavy and uncomfortable). Sometimes it's a sharp pain. Try keeping a journal to see if it could be related to ovulation. Not to mention, some people sometimes ovulate more than once a month. Couldn't hurt to have an U/S if it's really concerning you.
I also had c-sections with all 3 of my boys. My OB said that I should not be hurting as I was during my annual exam a year after my last son was born(it hurt when he pushed down over the ovaries) and he scheduled an ultra sound to see what was going on. Long story short, he did see something in the ultra sound and went ahead and scheduled an exploratory something (basically was going in with a microscope - outpatient procedure). He ended up removing my left falopian tube due to endometriosis and left my right one alone...showed me pictures at my follow up to prove the infected falopian tube that was causing my pain. I always associated the pain with cramps from my cycles. Not sure if this is the same situation, but I felt so much better afterwards.
I would get checked for ovarian cysts. If those are ruled out, get checked for kidney stones or gall stones. Keep persisting!
Request a sonogram be done on your ovaries. I have the same problem. I get cysts on my ovaries, that's why they feel ____@____.com Luck. : )
My ovarian cyst pain was pretty debilitating.
I thought that I was just ovulating in my right ovary for many years and found out in recent years that it was inflammation in my intestines. I discovered a gluten sensitivity. Check your diet.
I would say there's a good shot you have/had an ovarian cyst. I get them all the time. If it's on the back side of the ovary, the nurse would not have been able to feel it...same if it was small in size.
From personal experience I can tell you that I had something similar happen. I had lower abdomenal pain that seemed to be around the area of my ovaries and I also let my doctor know at the time of my annual womens checkup, she also said that she didn't feel anything abnormal but offered to do an ultrasound to be sure. With the ultrasound they found an ovarian cyst that required surgery to remove. If the doctor will I would suggest double checking for something like that which may be too small in in a difficult spot to feel. It may not meen anything other than stoppeing the discomfort but that may be worth it anyway! Good luck!
As great as nurses are, they're not qualified to make the assessment of whether or not your ovaries are fine compared to your OB as a specialist. While many great nurses are vastly experienced, there is no 3 year mandated fellowship for OB/GYN like there is for a physician after 4 years of med school and a 3 year residency.
I'd call them back, explain what's going on and insist to be seen.
Women's health is really critically important, and I've learned through my own experiences with cancer (not related to the reproductive system) to not hold off. Cancer doesn't have nerve endings, so it's not painful. Sometimes, pain is a good indication that it's not as serious. But, I'd still have it checked to make sure it's your ovaries and not something like kidney stones.
not sure how old you are, but the older I get, the more pain I feel around ovaries before that time of the month.
used to never bother me, but now as I am in mid-40's, there is some discomfort. had everything checked...all fine. Doctor said this additional cramping, etc...can be part of peri-menopause.
fun.

Go to a doctor and find out, and just tell them you have pain in your lower abdomen, not that your ovaries hurt. You asked a very specific question, and the nurse answered it, but there are many other things in your lower abdomen that can cause pain that are not those two walnut sized organs on either side, and you have no way of telling where the pain is coming from and should not try to guess. Let the doctor do that. I had such a pain, and it was my colon, which is down there too, so let the doctors figure out what the pain is. Pain is a warning sign and doctors are the ones to help. you should not try to do any leg work for them.

You could have had a cyst and perhaps it burst. I had pains so bad one day my husband was ready to take me to the ER. I'm surprised your doctor didn't do a sonogram. That's what mine did. I had to go back for an internal sonogram and the doctor saw where there was a small cyst on the one ovary and he could see fluid around the other one (the side where the most pain was) that showed him there must have been one that burst. Are you on the pill because that can cause these to keep happening as well. I think I went off the pill the next month!
I would ask about them doing a sonogram if you are still hurting. She can't "feel" if there was one and it burst...I don't know how she could "feel" it anyhow but that's just me.
i had lots of pain and it was a cyst.. they could only see it from a scan.... ask to have one done.. to see what;s up good luck
I would keep a chart and see if it really is just ovulation. I had pain with ovulation. If you have a cyst that was sizable then the nurse would have been able to feel it during a pelvic, but small cysts can cause pain too.
This could also be bowel distress. The pain is in a similar area. So, I would ask if you get this after you eat something in particular or whether you have gas, or loose stools around the time of the pain. Could be allergic to certain foods. Sorry to be so graphic.
If you do not feel you have figured it out within a month then I would go back to the doctor, not the nurse. Sometimes tests are worth it just for peace of mind.
Time to see a Dr, and have him check you,not the nurse.
