Hi Mommas!
I am really needing help. I have ADHD and haven't taken anything since I was a freshman in high school. I have always struggled in school, work, organazation, etc. I am a single mom with a 4 yr old that is on the autism spectrum and I am looking for work and trying to get back to school so I really need to stay focused and organized. I really need to get my ADHD under control but I haven't been able to find the right medication for me.
I recently tried Ritalin, Adderall and now Focalin and none of them work for me. They all make me feel shaky, out of it, graugy, hyper, etc. If any of you have any ideas. Please let me know.
Thank you in advance.
God Bless,
M.

M.,
I have been reading your posts and been thinking about you a lot. THere are two places that may be able to help you one is Medina Children's Home that helps moms and their children start a new life. The other is a program called "Parenting Alone". Unfortunately I cannot get you the phone numbers at the moment but they should not be hard to find. I am sure that once you get some of your pressing items taken care of (job, services for your son, financial situation) your ADHD will also feel better because stress does not help at all.
Hope you really can find what you are looking for and I will keep you in my prayers!

You might try Original Limu. I know that the ingredient called fucoidan has over 800 independent studies done for all kinds of problems and people say that it has helped their ADD. Also have heard good results with autism. Check out the website and get in touch with me with questions or any way I can help.

Well, I know there are lots of alternative treatments that work really well, including exercise. However, if you're thinking medication, have you tried Strattera? It is like Prozac for ADHD. Where Prozac keeps serotonin available for use in the brain to keep a person's brain chemicals in check, Strattera keeps norepinephrine available for use in the brain. Norepinephrine is the neuro-transmitter that deals with focus and attention. I don't use it personally, but I have several friends (and their children) who do, and they really like it. It also doesn't have many of the side effects that the stimulants have. By the way, it gave me insomnia. Apparently that can be one of the side effects for adults, though it's not really common. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hi Michelle,

I would love to help you! I offer the DORE program at The Cerebellum Center. The DORE program is a program that changes how the brain processes information and works very differently and more effectively than any other treatment.

Adults on my program report higher levels of concentration, less frustration, better control over their mood and impulses, improved reading, comprehension and retention. They also experience improved organizational skills!

Please take a minute to look at my website! I would be more than happy to speak with you personally to talk more about how the program works and how it may be able to help you!
