I had a C-Section a year ago. I just started having abdominal pains in the past three months.
I went to the doctor yesterday and she told me she thinks I may have adhesions. They did
blood work, x-rays, and a sonogram for Friday. After they review all the tests if I do have them
I have to get surgery to remove the scar tissue. This is just the news I needed to hear. All the drama
and stuff in the family right now, cant handle anymore.

What is your opinion? Has anyone had the surgery? How was it?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

i am not really doing to much about it. It is possible that if I have surgery for it then there will still be scar tissuse, I dont see any reason to have it done.

When I had a c section a few months later is was in devastating pain. Courtesy of the c section my gut hangs over and I could not see the scar. I ended up in the emergency room twice and come to find out it was a staph infection. I was sent for a CT scan and then had minor (out patient in office) surgery to remove the infection. Just a different perspective on the pain you may want to bring up with your doc.

I had them to and had them cut away- it made a tremendous difference but I didnt feel great for three days after the surgery. They did it through the c section scar and through two other small incisions. I was glad to have it done to rule out endometriosis and to get rid of the pain!

I had adhesions with my last C-Section 2 months ago. They removed them after my C-Section but I healed really fast. I'm not sure if this helps or not seeing that you're not going to have a C-Section at the same time. But I think it will probably be outpatient or just a couple days in the hospital. I went home two days after my C-Section.

I haven't heard of surgery to remove scar tissue. Also, what's to stop the same physiologic process from happening again? Will you have to have surgery again? I would get a second opinion. Best of luck to you.

I have the same thing. My Doc recomended I not get the surgery however. He said that since surgery is what caused it, there is no guarantee you will not get them again, and they could even come back worse. Mine were very painfull at first, but it has gotten less and less just on its own. If you can stand the pain, maybe try to let nature solve the problem? I am not anti-surgery, but the thought of them coming back worse scared me out of this one. Good luck whatever you choose.
