I wonder the same thing! My mom bought my son Starfall so that we could do ALL of the website - the math part is pretty good I think. It was only $35 I think for a whole year, so that seemed to be a reasonable price.
Has anyone used the website ABCMouse.com? How did your kids like it. I have just turned 3 year old and an almost 5 year old.
Well my son actually asked for this site this morning and I told him we would do it next week over spring break. He is asking for an educational site afterall!! He likes starfall but we have done most of those activities already. I'm sure it will be good for both of them.

I've had it since it's inception and was (I think it's called) a beta tester. Every year I get it for free, super nice, cause I've used it with 4 of my kids as part of our homeschooling curriculum. Plus it helps with the 3 year old when I need her entertained.
I always recommend it as a good site, there is also Starfall.com which is free, and another great one which isn't free is readingegg.com
We have it. I find it to be super basic. My kids like it sometimes, but it really is super basic. I also don't like the reward system. Basically, philosophically, it is a terrible program. And my daughter will have completed the whole thing in a few months, only doing it a few times a week. She isn't learning anything. It did teach my son how to use a computer mouse. But mostly, I only bought it because i paid half price, and I will not be renewing it.
Staffall is much better, though I haven't looked at their kindergarten program.
abcya.com is free and has lots of fun stuff.. starfall.com is also good and most of it is free.
I haven't used it, simply because it's not free and there are too many free learning resources out there...including what you can make with crayons, scissors, glue, and paper!
I think Starfall is okay, Arcademic is okay...I honestly have never been too impressed with any of them, because they seem a bit one dimensional. (Sorry, don't hate me, mamas!!) ;)
I have checked out the free stuff, and my son likes it. He also really likes Starfall.
We were using Starfall but my daughter got bored using it. She had been asking for ABC Mouse bc that's what they have in school so I finally got it for her. She LOVES it. I'm not sure if you've cked it out yet or not but they are able to make avatars & play games & win tickets which allow them to purchase items for their avatars such as; clothing, animals, pictures for the wall inside their virtual hm online. It's so cute to watch their style. My daughter is 4!
We have not used it. We use the free parts of Starfall, as recommended by my SIL who teaches special needs elementary students.
Starfall is what is used in school & we like to use it at home we haven't subscribed just what is free
We've had it for about a year and a half. My daughter uses it everyday.
our neighbors bought it for there high functioning autistic son. He did really well with it and exceeded my kids learning with recognition of colors, numbers, letters. He was 3 when they started and will be 4 this year. I just would not fork over the money. But what I saw from it it was worth the money.
My son uses it at daycare.. he likes it.
My children have used it. They have enjoyed it when they were younger. Actually, each of my children use the site in school. One is in kindergarten and the other is in 3rd grade.
