A Complete Shot in the Dark...

Ok, so I know this is a complete shot in the dark, but I'm running out of places to look for this...

We are moving (hopefully) this fall, and I have the bedding set I'll be using for my son's room... he had gotten it as a gift a year ago, and we decided to save it for his new room... it's the Hit the Road set from Circo/Target. We have the bedding, a lamp, a wall hanging, some decals (we plan to add more custom decals, but figured these would tie into everything nicely), a pillow, and valances. When I got the valances, they were on clearance, as this set is no longer sold. I got 2 because that's what they had... and we need 3. I have searched high and low for one more valance (internet, ebay, amazon, craigslist, all local target stores, etc.), and cannot find one.

Here is the best picture of the valance I can find... it's the one on the left of the picture... And it's no longer available.

I know I'm going to probably have to improvise, but just thought I'd take a stab and see if anyone here has one they're willing to sell. :) My son will have one large window that will require 2 valances, and one small window, that will need one. Not sure what I'll do if I don't find one. Use one on the single window, and use the other in the center of the big window and flank it with a solid color? Ideas?

Thanks, ladies! (Crossing my fingers...)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

OK - so it's NOT the TRANSPORTATION set... that is different... we did get those sheets for an alternate pair, since they do coordinate, but the curtains don't quite match... I will probably just have to go with a coordinating solid...

And yes, Theresa, you are right, he will probably not find this to be super cool for a long time... but for now, he's excited to use all the stuff we've accumulated (on clearance) to do his room. I plan to paint it light blue with charcoal carpet, with a 1foot charcoal strip around the room, that will become a road, using bright yellow tape to make lines on the road... we plan to get customized street sign decals to decorate the room, which he can't wait for... The way I see it is when he's tired of this motif, aka, it's too 'baby', we'll be left with charcoal gray carpet, with light blue walls with a bold charcoal gray stripe (the tape road lines will be easily removable, along with all the wall decals) which shouldn't be too hard to make into a nice 'mature' boy's room. :)

ETA: poo--I thought that was it! LOL

In that case, I would definitely flank O. in solids--keep the "real" O. in the middle.
Sounds like a cute room!

Yeah, if you can't find it, I'd go with a solid that ties in for the small window.

My goodness, aren't we nesting then?!

He's 5, right? Keep in mind he'll think they're stupid soon, sorry, or 'for babies'.

Can't you just pull a common solid color out of the other prints? You'll likely get more use out of them.

:)

sorry - can't help you there...what I would do is put a solid color in the middle of the two you have - one that complements one of the colors you want to bring out in the valance!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

I don't have them and don't know anyone who might.

I like the idea of using a solid color in the middle!

I would check your Goodwill type stores. Thrift stores etc.

Update: I used to work at Target on the price change team: Just because it's not on the shelf doesn't mean it's not in the stock room lost/forgotten. It happens alot.

I think it would look fine if you find a light blue valance to match the other ones. I would put it on the small window unless you can somehow cut the other ones and have the solid in the middle on the bigger window. Sounds like it's gonna look really cute, how fun!
