8 Mo Old Baby and Hot Flashes

My baby girl is 8 mos. For the last two months, I have been having unnerving hot flashes. They come out of nowhere, and are very bothersome at night. I am no longer breastfeeding, and my cycle resumed some months ago. I assume that it's just my body still adjusting for having a baby. Has anyone had something similar this long after having a baby? I did have these flashes right after she was born, but they subsided after a few weeks. Even now, I am sitting here right now sweating like crazy and I am one of those girls that never sweats much, even in the heat of summer! Thanks!

What can I do next?

call your ob/gyn. You need to have some blood work done to have your hormones tested. It alsmot sounds like hotflashes you get when you are going through menopause. I hope things get better. somethings to avoid with hotflashes are caffiene, smoking cigarettes and watch what you eat. Best of luck to you.

I think i soaked the entire bed for about a year after our baby girl. For some reason the pregnancy symptoms seemed to STAY forever. I was losing hand fulls of hair, sweating, I still even had that dark line down the middle of my belly.. Things have been back to normal for about a year and now they're starting over with my second little baby in my belly. The joys of motherhood!

Ask the other women in your family when they started the whole peripausal thing, you could be starting early (saw on your profile you're 35). It could just be that your body is still adjusting, especially if you were or are breastfeeding. Could be that your body just totally changed after giving birth... I don't have hot flashes, but I definately sweat more after having 3 kids than I ever sweated in my life. I also NEVERRR got mosquito bites until my 3rd baby came along... now, it's like a feeding frenzy :l Your body changes as it ages also. Could be totally normal. Talk to your doc... but I still think your body is still adjusting.

Honey, i am in the same boat. I wake up sometimes in the middle of the night, soaked in my own sweat. And anytime i drink something hot, i sweat up a storm. You are not alone
