Just wondering if this is normal? Our son will be happy and playing and moving his arms up and down and moving his legs and having a grand old time, and then suddenly he'll stop and put his head down and pout... he'll then go right back to laughing and having fun and then do it again. It's very cute, but I am a little concerned (1st time Mom sort of thing I guess). I was just wondering if this is normal?? He'll do it when he is on someone's lap or sitting in his playpen... in his highchair... whenever he is sitting... (but it's not a poopy diaper or anything)...any time... Is this just a new expression? Or is he unhappy? Or uncomfortable? Has anyone else's baby done something similar?? He is in general such a happy baby... people tell us that a lot... Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
:-) M.

Have no fear - this is totally normal. Most likely, the first time he did it, it was an experiment and he enjoyed the reaction he received, so now he'll do it a lot! My little guy loves to use his eyebrows to be very expressive because of all the ooohs and ahhhs and chuckles he hears. As another mother said, he'll move on to other expressions soon. Enjoy this time while it lasts because it's gone all too soon. :-)

It sounds like a new expression he learned. When my son was that age he was around my sister's dog alot so to entertain himself when he ate he started lapping up his food. It was pretty funny. :P Eventually he started eating normally again. So don't sweat it. Babies do lots of funny things when they learn something new.

Mom don't worry he just likes the attention he gets. he will get over it and he will find another experssion all kids like to express them selves in different kinds of way they just like the attention they get from the parents.I would not worry as he gets older he will find different ways to make you laugh and sometimes kids like to act silly,my son is 21 and he still acts silly just to make me smile and he still does things to get my attention when my other two daughters are around is like they compete for the attention.
Hope I help

totally normal, lol! Just testing the muxcles and learning expressions. My girls used to practice pouting and crying in the mirror. I would catch them from 1 year old till just recently doing that. They have to learn all those feelings and emotions and how to ezxpress them. Take a picture of the pout for the scrapbook!
