I take my kiddos to the Sears Portrait Studio and I never have to bring my own props. How nerve wracking on top of selecting the "perfect" outfit. IF you are going to a "pro" studio (unlike Sears or JCPenney) and the photographer has indeed asked you bring your own props, I would keep it very simple. Honestly, the main subject is your child and the "prop" shouldn't be the focus of the final print. Perhaps a small teddy bear, a small rubber duck, soft blanket. Too many "props" can be so distracting for a baby and then they become more interested in the toy than to look at the camera. And IF this is a professional photographer, I'm wondering why he/she doesn't have props for you to choose from anyway.
