6 Month Old Baby Still Cries a Lot and Is Very Fussy

Hello- my 6 month old son cries A LOT. He has always been fussy, but I thought it would get better by now. Once he gets in a "mood", it is difficult to console or distract him. He gets frustrated very easily. He will be happy and smiling one minute and crying the next. It is tough to know what sets him off. He sleeps well and eats reasonably well. I'm at a loss. Does anyone know of a specialist or doctor that might be helpful?

What can I do next?

typically colic goes away around 3-4 months but not for all babies. however, i strongly recommend ruling out acid reflux. it could be silent reflux with no spitting up and it just burns inside. i have heard a lot of people recommend dr. cinnamon at cedars but have not gone to him personally. my son had acid reflux, my ped figured it out, he was on axid until 8 mo, and the difference was like night and day. good luck.

My 4 month old is pretty much the same way. Are you breastfeeding? It could be colic aka issues with their stomachs. I'm already used to this crazyness so i'm just going to wait it out.. hopefully eventually it will stop! hang in there!

You might ask your docotr ot ruke out reflux. My grandbaby had that and she cried so loud and hard we were sure the police would be at our house any day. Hope he feels better.

it seems like he has colic....a common trait among babies but it causes them to be fussy for no apparent reason. In my experience it goes away but patience is the best way to handle it. just stop trying to fix it or figure out why but focus on handling it with patience and love. :)
