Yeah just like when you have a cold, you do not eat as much.
Also teething could play a part.
:)
Is it normal for babies to take less when they're nursing if they have a runny nose? I have a baby scale at the house so I can see how much my little guy takes after his feedings and yesterday and today he has been taking less at each feeding than he normally does. He seems content between feedings and is still producing urine and having bms, so I'm not super worried, I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this.

Well, I didn't weigh my babies after feedings, so I don't know. As long as he is content, I'd say skip the scale because you are causing worry for no reason.
Well, I definitely don't eat much when I'm sick! Babies don't either.
How well do YOU want to eat when you can't breathe through your nose?
Not very well, right? Same with your baby. When something isn't quite right with them, their appetite changes until they're back to "normal".
Okay, your post is just weird....you weigh your child after they eat? Do you know that's the sort of stuff Anorexic people do to themselves? His food goes instantly to many places and just because he eats 8 ounces doesn't mean he weighs 8 ounces more.
If this is in fact a real post then I'd say please just feed him. If he has a runny nose he may not be able to suck as much due to snot blocking his nose, breathing through the nose when something is in his mouth.
To me that's what he'd really be doing. Eating less might be part of that.
He may not be hungry if he is sick\not feeling well (runny nose).
I would put in a call to the advice nurse/his pediatrician.
Be sure he's not teething. Rub Infant Orajel on his gums. If he's fussy, they have Infant Tylenol (be sure to follow the label as to how much to give him).
