5 Days Late on 21 Day Fast

This is probably an obvious question but......I am on day 15 of a 21 day Daniel Fast (fruits and vegetables only) and I am currently 5 days late. Now, I know that drastic changes in diet and/or exercise can effect your cycle. I conceived my DH by IUI after almost 2 yrs and have been trying for a second one for over a year. We are currently on a break from fertility treatments but not preventing anything while on the break. I haven't taken a pregnancy test but don't necessarily feel like I should and waste that money. I have no symptoms either way (no tender or sore breasts and very little cramping but not consistent).

Any ideas? I'm sure most will take a test but I have NEVER had a positive one. Just hate to waste the money.

What can I do next?

Dollar store cheap test. they cost a dollar and work better then some of the expensive ones. Only ones that ever gave me a positive...Fasting while pregnant not a good idea. So good idea to find out so you know whether or not to eat full meals again.

You can always buy one of those cheap tests at the dollar store, just to see.

But do you really want to take a chance that you are pregnant and are on a fast? That's the question you have to ask yourself. You know how critical the early days are for baby getting certain vitamins and minerals.

To be sure (and not waste money). Buy a preg test from Dollar General. They work great and they are only a dollar! If it's negative, then you know it's the diet.

I was going to say what the other momma's said. Go to the dollar store and buy a test. Dollar Tree has tons of them. Surely you can afford a dollar. :-) Good luck and I hope you are!

I have done a few fasts in my life time and they have never altered my cycle at all. So....maybe... :D I had some friends who were trying to conceive for five years and then suddenly popped up pregnant and now have two babies. So I agree with the others that suggest the Dollar Store test. Good luck, hope everything goes just as you would like it to!!! But it is starting to sound like congratulations might be in order ;)

You can get a pregnancy test at the Dollar Store and they work just as well as the expensive ones. Just grab one of those so that you can find out and not waste that much money! Good luck to you!

You never know - all that healthy eating may have helped you to get pregnant! There is a book called the "Infertility Diet" which encourages a diet similiar to what you are doing. It worked for me! Looking forward to the results....

Stress, fasting, etc. are likely to affect the first half of your cycle (ovulation) rather than the second half. So, you might want to compute whether you were fasting during the time between your last period and when ovulation was likely to occur. If not, the fasting likely did not affect your fertility. The time between ovulation and period is usually about the same, regardless of life circumstances. If you were fasting prior to ovulation, it could have affected (delayed) ovulation, which would then delay your period.

I think Daniel fasts also includes grains. If so, i think you are fine, just also be taking a prenatal and yes test, just to be sure. I am also on a fast, and was also late, and wouldn't start my fast until a took a preg. test. However, if it is not calorie restrictive, just not allowing dairy, meat, sugar, wine, likely you are getting better nutrition for new fetus!

You can hope.
Daughter went through 3 invitros before she went to PGD (Check that out, even more advanced.) and had a son. I told her she could get pregnant after his birth. She said, "My dr. said the same thing. But not me. Someone else might."
She called me about 6 months later and told me she passed 3 pregnancy tests. Beautiful daughter was born months later.
It happens.
Buy tests or just wait!
