This happens all the time with infants. It's completely normal. It's often on the back of the head where the most contact with the mattress happens, but it can be in other places. If you look around at other kids, you will see lots of bald patches in the back. Ignore it. Really. It will go away. I know it looks funny but there is nothing to do about it. I don't think a hat will have any effect. She will be fine.

My daughter was born with very dark hair. It all fell out (I'd see it on the sheets) by the time she was 3 months. Then she was bald until she was about 1. But now, she has long beautiful hair.

It's normal.

Hehehe, all of my kids were born with all kinds of dark curly hair! We were a little concerned as we are both fair, light haired people.

Then, over a few months all the dark hair fell out, and blonde hair grew in.

All three were full fledged towheads by their 1st birthday.

It was a little disturbing all the dark hair all over their clothes and bedding!

:)

Nope...this happens. 100 percent normal. My son was born with a thick head of dark hair. It all fell out and it grew back a reddish blonde

Sorry mom, nothing you can do. She will lose what she has then it will come back in and be much more hardy.

It's normal. This is early hair and usually falls out some anyway. Once she gets her regular hair in, it won't do that anymore. DON'T put a hat on her while she sleeps. She could end up suffocating. If you don't believe me, ask your doctor and he or she will say the same thing.

How she moves her head has nothing to do with it.
Hair that they are born with falls out and then new hair comes in.
A hat will not make any difference.

It's normal. My daughter had an awful bald patch. There's nothing you can do about it and the hair will grow in.

In the meantime, find her some cute hats to keep her little head warm and don't worry about it.

This is very normal. Baby's are sometimes born with a head full of hair within a couple months it's gone. New hair will grow in.

My daughter was born with really long, thick, black hair. I was able to put it in little pigtails when we were still in the hospital. Lol.

When hers came out, she lost it in weird stages.

First, the back and sides. (And I tried a hat... Didn't make ANY difference.) she looked like a little punk rocker. Lol.

Then that started growing back in, and she lost the top of her head. She looked like a little old man! It was too cute, but I definitely was sad to see her awesome hair go away.

Don't worry, it will grow back. :)

Between 3 & 4 months , my daughter lost every bit of the tons of dark black hair , she was born with. At 6 mos , it has now been replaced w/ super - blonde hair. Nothing you can do.

Start paying more attention to other babies. Your daughter is not the only one with a thin or altogether bald spot on the back of her head. Don't worry about it, it's perfectly normal.

Fear not Momma, it will ALL grow back. My son was born with a full head of hair. By 9-10 months he had a band around his head, from ear to ear, around the back that was ALL bald in a 2 inch swath. Why? because he did what your daughter is doing. It was all grown back in by 12 or so months, maybe 18 months. I don't really remember. He's 10 now and not missing any hair at all.

It's normal. It's newborn hair that's coming out. Some babies lose more than others. It'll grow back. No problem.
