Sometimes the prenatal vitamin can make you sick. That happened with my 2nd one. Switch to taking it in the evening and that my help. Also chewing gum may also help.
Good Luck!

The bracelets are Sea Bands. I used them and I think they helped, but didn't eliminate the nausea and vomitting. I found it helpful to always have something in my stomach--I ate Cheerios throughout the day. Peppermint also help me a lot, so I sucked on Altoids a lot. Hope something helps.

Hi K.,

The bracelet is accupressure and they do work for nausea. I used them when I was pregnant. I still use them if I have to ride in the back seat of a car if I'm not familiar with the driver. I never threw up but I was nauseated 24/7 for 9 months......

A better prenatal should help as well. Throwing up has to do with the fact that the baby is sucking up all the nutrition. If she gets more, then the nausea may subside some. Make sure she is getting enough electrolytes (Dodge Gatorade/Powerade. They can cause seizures) because she is losing them throwing up

I can recommend an excellent prenatal if she's interested. It's rather inexpensive as well but it is guaranteed to absorb and has shown some incredible medical firsts. Bobbi McCaughey used it when she was pregnant with her seven babies. Her doctor wanted her to abort four to save three and she refused. They were all born healthy.

God bless,

M.

PS If she gets the bracelets, tell her to put them on in bed before she gets up. They work better if you aren't already nauseated when you put them on.

Anything ginger! Ginger ale helped me alot and if it was really bad I'd chew a bit of raw ginger root.

Hi K.,

With one of my pregnancies I was sick every day through the end. Every pregnancy is different as is every mom to be.

My doctor told me I could take Dramamine, or magnetic bracelet, or the pressure bracelet, or eat ginger snaps, or have peppermint, or change when I take my prenatal vitamins, or try throwing up first thing every morning. I tried it all, none of it worked for me but something could work for your friend.

The wrist bands are called Sea Bands and they are for sea/motion sickness. I have heard that they work sometimes but not all the time. Have her contact her doctor and ask for Zofran. It is a medication that you CAN take during pregnancy and will ease the nausea.

I feel for her, I was the same way. I ate lots of watermelon, drank peppermint tea with honey, ginger Altoids. A prescription called Zofran (not sure of the exact spelling) really helped me when I was very bad. She might inquire about that.

you can wear the bracelet. The most important thing is to eat small frequent meals/snacks. Combine protein with complex carbs. Think- chicken breast with brown rice- it stabilizes blood sugar. When a person is pregnant their blood sugar levels can rise and fall quickly which can cause nausea and vomitting. Try to focus on what's being eaten, try the wrist back for nausea, and ginger helps soothe an icky tummy, too. Just look for products that contain "real" ginger.

Good luck-

Hello. Oh morning sickness. It's a killer and it's one of the things I hate about pregnancy. I would have more children if I didn't have such bad experiences with morning sickness.

With each of my 4 children, I've tried different things--every pregnancy is different and some things work and some don't.

Your friend could try, sucking on lemon, Vitamin B6 with Unisom(the sleeping pill), seabands(wich is the bracelet)---this seemed to work for a few hours for me. Snacking helped as well, making sure you that you rest, eat small meals, snacks, fresh air, and anything that I mentioned above. I also tried ginger candy. Good luck to your friend.

She really needs to speak with her doctor. They can work together to figure out the best plan to make sure she continues a health happy pregnancy.

I threw up almost daily with all 3 of my pregnancies. I worked with my ob to make sure I was as healthy as possible.

I was really sick with this pregenancy as well. it wasnt unitl my Dr got me on Zophran that I was able to function again and feel normal. I still got a little queasy every now and then but nothing like it was. I reccomend her getting an rx for zophran if nothing else helps. I also dont take prenatla because it just makes me that much sicker but take childrens vitamins instead.

I tried the braclets, the lolipops, just about everyhting and nothing heloed but the rx, tell her good luck and I hope she finds relief.

Morning sickness can be a real pain in the butt!! I had it with three of my four pregnancies. For me, I did try the bracelet and it didn't work. It was more annoying than helpful. Things that sort of helped me was sucking on wintergreen livesavers. Also, vanilla milkshakes. If its really bad her doc can probably prescribe her something. Hope she feels better soon!!

My wife used the accupressure bracelets AND preggie pops when she was constantly sick with our baby. They seemed to work well.

Hi K.,

I too, was among the masses who share this problem. My husband called me the "vomit comet" and it lasted the first 6 months of both my pregnancies. I tried everything. Accupressure (the bracelets) didn't work, nor did magnets, ginger teas, pepermint, crackers, accupuncture, massage...nothing worked until Zofran and Phenergan supositories. The nausea didn't go away, but I no longer vomitted. If she can keep her blood sugars consistantly level, it will help. This is hard when you throw up everything you put in, so she could try doing it with liquids. They absorb into the blood stream faster. Good luck to your friend, and just remind her that even though it's hard to see the end, it will be over soon.

Hello K., I can only tell your friend: Welcome to the world of PARENTHOOD. If there was a braclet or anything out on the market that really worked then it would be sold at every medical place in the world. Tell her not to fall for gimics that are costly and wasteful. My daughter in law has a beautiful baby girl now but it was aa misery while pregnant. But it only lasts 9 months at the most and with all the changes going on in the body its not surprizing. With my 5, I was silly enough with the 1st two that it was a sign that I was still pregnant and the baby was healthy.
I would have rather been throwing up than put on bedrest for the last 1/2 of preganancy with 2 running around needing to be entertained and watched.
Tell her good luck with the baby and give her crackers and either rootbeer or ginger ale to rinse out her mouth. They are good for coating the tastebuds she doesn't even have to drink it just rinse out her mouth.

I'm so sorry to hear this about your friend. I too had horrible "morning sickness" that lasted 24/7 it seemed. What helped me was eating a lot of bland, starchy foods and carbs, drinking ginger ale or citrus-flavored drinks, wearing the motion sickness bands that provide acupressure around your wrists (I found mine in the Target Pharmacy). Another option is to have your friend talk to her doctor. My doctor prescribed me an anti-nausea medication that was safe for my pregnancy called Zofran. It helped tremendously when all else failed. As long as she stays hydrated and does not need IV/hospital, most docs will consider her symptoms to be a positive sign that things are developing as they need to be for baby's health. At least that is what my docs and nurses said when I complained about this!! Good luck to her!
