My 30th bday is coming up and I would like to do something fun but not over the top. 3 of my closest friends are pregnant so I have to take that into account. We always seem to have people over at our house for bdays and I would like to do something different this time. At the same time though, I am not sure if we will have a babysitter or not. Any suggestions?? :)

What can I do next?

For my 30th (I was pregnant) I had my hubby take me on a cruise to Mexico. We left from Long Beach and went to Ensinada and back. We didn't plan any shore excursions because it wasn't in our budget, turns out we didn't need them. A cruise on a budget is a ton of fun!
We spent $250 per person, we got close friends to watch our other children and off we went. You can get great last minute online deals.

Wine tasting w/a limo (sorry pregnant friends but they can still have fun).
Day of beauty at the spa w/just the girls. (Massages, pedi's, lunch.)
Casino trip w/lunch.
Wine country.
Overnight trip to a town near you (2 hrs away). For instance, we go to Tahoe. Very fun.
Are you close to a beach? A weekend overnight trip there if you are close.

When I turned 30 my husband had our closeset friends over for a really nice dinner party. We had it catered, but served it family-style. We had nice wine and sparkling drinks for the pregos. We ate in the dining room using the "good dishes and glasse" and hired a sitter to hang out in the basement with the kids (all of them).

It was elegant and low-key and not overly expensive b/c we didn't have the caterers stay to serve the food.
