3 Yr Old with Monthly Fevers

My three and a half year old son seems to spike a fever (101-103) every 3-4 weeks. The last time he had a fever, it was accompanied with the stomach flu for 2 days. This time, it appears to be just a fever (with hopes that the stomach bug hasn't kicked in yet).
We spoke with our pediatrician about this in February. Per her recommendation, we had a our son's blood tested the week after his "February illness". Everything came back normal. Our pediatrician said that he just may be one of those kids who catches everything (especially with being in a daycare).
In between his bouts of illness, he's perfectly healthy- active, good appetite, growing, etc. I'm just wondering, has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas or suggestions?

What can I do next?

So sorry! Our nearly 3 yr old is like that as well. But with her, the fevers have been as high as 106 and often last a week. We've had blood tests done several times and have seen an immunologist, but have no answers. However, nearly every fever during the last year and 1/2 has been accompanied by a sore throat and swollen tonsils. After several of these visits to her ped without strep, her doc recommended we get her tonsils removed.

When she was a baby, she had also ear tubes inserted after 8 ear infections in 6.5 months. Now we and her ENT have concluded that her tonsils and adenoids are just too big and her ped and I believe her tonsils work too hard whenever she gets exposed to a virus (she's also in daycare).

Obviously, this has been really hard on her and disruptive for us all, so while I'm nervous about the tonsilectomy, I'm very hopeful it will really help her too. I wish you luck with your boy!

Has your son been to the dentist? I ask because I was having this happen alot with my daughter (even the Dr. could not figure out why) and when she went into the dentist she had an infection in her mouth. Thank goodness we found out because the dentist said any longer and she would have woke up with a swollen face and an eye swollen shut.

My 2 year old has probably had a fever once a month since he was born. I got his blood work done too just to make sure everything was ok. From all the readying I have done I have concluded that its just their bodies fighting off bugs. Supposedly if it never progresses to symptoms then it means they have a really strong immune system and the fever is working really hard to keep it from being symptomatic! Its funny reading this because my little guy has a fever right now! We try really hard to let the fever run its course but if it gets high (around 104) we def give him advil. I hope this helps!

My son was like this between 1-3 years old, he would get fevers as high as 103, usually with no other symptoms. They would last a couple days and go away. My ped told me that this was actually a good thing because his immune system was building and that we were lucky that he didn't endure other symptoms. He is 7 now and has the best immune system of all of my kids. He always gets super high fevers (105s) whenever he DOES get sick now, but any illness is gone in less than half the time that my other ones are sick. It seems to me that his immune system is very efficient. I have learned and now truly accept the fact that fevers really are your friend and the body's way of fighting.
