3 Yr Old Princess Party

Hi
My soon to be three year old only wants a purple princess party with Cinderella. I am looking for suggestions for a reasonably priced venue. The private tea party places and princess theme places are too cost prohibitive. Alternatively, if we have her party at home, where can I find a Cinderella to visit our party.

Thank you
S.

I just had a princess party for my daughter's 5th birthday last weekend. It was at home, and my daughter wanted to dress like a princess, so we found a costume half price after Halloween. I made the cake, with purple frosting, using a princess cake pan that's got the doll body on the top of it. I also got cookie cutters shaped like stars and shoes (slippers)and made cream cheese and strawberry jam sandwiches cut with the cutters. You could also do the cutters with slices of cheese. As for a Cinderella, does your daughter have an older cousin or babysitter who you could rent a costume for and let her be Cinderella? It occurred to me to have our neice come as a princess, but I didn't think of it soon enough.

There is someone who does parties in the area with face painting or magic tricks, and I think she even dresses up. But I can't remember. :( It's a husband/wife team, I believe. I'll let you know if I find it!

Hi S.,

We too are doing a princess party for my daughter who is turning 3 next month. If you are interested in going with one of the other mom's ideas about using an older girl to dress up as Cinderella, then consider checking out the Toys R Us website for the dress. They have "one size fits all" Disney princess gowns for adults. I saw a Belle dress. I'm sure they have Cinderella too. We aren't having a Cinderella at our party but I think that's a wonderful idea.

The Cinderella to visit will cost more than going to the cost prohibitive venues - fyi.

An idea for the party goers goodie bag is Dollar tree has Cinderella Christmas window clings.
For a three year old I would keep it simple. Thier eyes see much more than we see. Maybe dress her up as Cinderella ( Disney Store has outfits) and ask her friends to dress up as princess, nothing fancy. You can get princess stuff from the Dollar Tree (tiara's, feather boas, plastic princess cups and plates) Do your own tea party with finger sandwhichs ( PB&J) sliced into strips. You can have alot of fun giving her the illusion of princess. Have fun!!!

Your local park district probably has a room you can rent for under $100. The party supplies would be available at Party City or the same type of store. Hiring a Cinderella would be counter productive to cost saving. Characters usually start near $200 for one hour. Perhaps rather than have a character, you could show the movie "cinderella" or a princess themed DVD as part of the party. I would suggest having it at home with no more than 5 guests and just making finger sandwiches and serving them on fancy little plates and such bought from a dollar store or party store. If you keep the guest list small, you can do this reasonably. 3 year olds will be impressed with an at home party. They're too young to appreciate all the cost and planning that would go into a fancy, expensive party. Try Oriental Trading and see if they have kits to make tiaras and wands and such-could be a fun party activity. Best of luck.
