she gets one to two naps a day. but on a good night, stilll wakes up twice. i try not to pick her up. i just lay her on her back and hand her her pacifier. this Usually works.
but whe is about to move to a toddler bed. and i really need her to be sleeping thu the night before i make the switch.
any tips? should i just let her cry it out at this age? so far i havent let her cry for more than 10 min.

What can I do next?

I hate to say this, but not all kids sleep through the night till they're much older. And they go through so many changes that even if they do, they can fall out of it again. Mine is 4 and is not a full night sleeper. I have a friend who had 4 kids and they all had different sleep styles. Hopefully some moms might have strategies that'll work, but you may have to suck it up if you're stuck with a non-through the night sleeper. Good luck!

It's still pretty normal for kids to wake up at this age. 18 months is about when the canines come in and a developmental milestone related to talking happens.

I've been in your situation-twice and just did something similar to what you are doing (basically, resettling them and not engaging them) and they both sleep through now. I'm not a fan of CIO so I don't have anything to say about it, but I'm sure you'll get responses on how to do it.

Instead of switching to a toddler bed, how about switching to a twin mattress with a rail? You could even do a twin mattress on a floor. The toddler mattress which is the same as a crib mattress is pretty uncomfortable. My kids both slept better when they got real mattresses. The bonus is that I could lay down with them more comfortably when they woke at night and get more sleep that way.

16 or 17 months was when we ditched the crib (not that our 2nd son ever really slept there ... mostly our bed) and used a twin mattress on the floor. Both our boys (5 and 2) just climb into our bed in the middle of the night if they're having trouble. The 5 year old comes once or twice a month, usually if he has a bad dream. The 2 year old comes 3 or 4 times a week. It varies. If we wake up in the morning without any kids in our bed, my husband and I look at each other in shock!

I don't think there's much you can do except come to terms with the fact that part of being a parent of a child at this age includes nighttime parenting. Just be there for your little girl. You'll be glad you were.

My daughter was almost 6 before she slept thru the night. My younger son was almost 3. Both were in a twin bed by 3. I just told them to go back to sleep. Good luck

My son at 21 month still doesnt. I think it is a very normal things for toddler not to sleep through the night. Personally I don't think CIO is the answer. Some kids can't handle CIO. My sons personality is one of those that gets worse with CIO. We have tried, but to no avail. But that's my point of view.
Oh and my son is now in a toddler bed and sleeps better, but not all the way through the night.
