I was curious if anyone had problems with your cycle or period resuming after your IUD was removed. My Mirena IUD was removed in March and I had a period 3 days after. Since then I have skipped 2 periods with negative pregnancy tests but symptoms of feeling pregnant (tired, nauseated at times). Just wondering what other people have experienced. Thank you!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So..... 5 months after my IUD was removed I finally had another period. I had called and talked to the nurse at my OB office and she said that it can be common not to have a period for up to 6 months after your IUD is removed. I sure wish someone would have told me that when I had it removed. When I did finally get my period it was SOOOOOO heavy and long. Hope this helps anyone else with the same problem and thank you to all that wrote me with suggestions.

I had an iud removed after finding out I was pregnant.I had tried over the counter prego tests that kept coming up negative but finally I went to the docs because I knew I was pregnant. When it was removed I bled for three days afterwards and went into the docs and had a blood test that said I was not pregnant. So my hubby and I thought I had miscarried. But I didn't get my period. I was about 6 months along before I found out I was still pregnant. And that was only because I got the flu so bad I became dehydrated and had to be hospitalized. I think something with the IUD throws off those home pregnancy tests. I would take care of yourself as if you were pregnant until you have a chance to get to the docs and do a blood test. The blood test measure HGC more effectively than the pee tests.

I just had my IUD removed in April and I have not had a period since then. I start last friday with flu like symptoms and a slight headache every morning. I think it's just the hormones trying to regulate but I'm not sure. I have called my physician to see what he thinks??

I don't have experience with this, but am thinking about using it for my birth control and would like to hear how it turns out. Also, once you are pregnant, I am a doula in the Denver area, I'd love ot help you out! My website is www.birthfirstdoula.vpweb.com. Good luck!

I would call your doctor...I had a friend who was pregnant and had negative pregnancy tests for a few months. Maybe your tests are not working? Otherwise, I bet it is just your hormones getting back in balance.
