It's possible, but the Mirena has side effects (hormones) that can make you feel like you are pregnant.
I have a one year old daughter. After she was born i got the mirena birth control. I've had a regular period since then, but did not have one the last 2 months. I assumed it was because of the Mirena and thought nothing of it. I've had 2 negative HPT just like i expected, but now i've noticed weight gain, breast leakage, and extreme tiredness. Is it possible that 2 tests could be wrong? Thanks for the advice in advance.

My tests were negative but I thought something was up. I went to get a blood test and it was positive. My doctor said because I drank so much water the HCG was low, but still registering as pregnant. I was scheduled for a scan around 11/12 weeks just to be sure and yup! there was a little baby!
Call your doctor and ask for a blood test, only sure way!
I do not know much about that type of birth control. I do know that if you drink too much fluids before the HPT it will come out negative ~ the best time to take them is supposed to be when you first wake up. Make sure you don't drink too much before you go to the dr. (if you decide to go). Also, if you take it too close to when you're supposed to have your period it can mess up the results. My sister-in-law was on birth control & needed antibiotics & ended up pregnant. Good luck & I hope you get the results you're hoping for! :o)
If you're having sex, it's always possible. And with an IUD there is an increased chance of ectopic pregnancy which may not be picked up by an OTC test. I'd get a blood test at the doc.
It's possible for the first test to be wrong IF you took the test too early. If you took the second test long after your period was LATE, then I'd say you are not pregnant. I don't know much about the Mirena but can this type of birth control make your periods lighter or nearly non existent? I know some forms of birth control can affect your periods from coming at all. If another test says negative, then I would call your doctor. HCG levels increase when pregnancy has occurred and that is what the pregnancy is detecting and if there isn't HCG to detect, then you're not pregnant.
It's possible, but extremely unlikely with the Mirena. It's more likely that it's just the side effects of the IUD itself. You can always go and get a blood test if you keep "feeling" pregnant with negative tests.
One of my friends just got pregnant with an IUD... she had it removed in the 4th month, to ensure it wouldn't interfere with the growth of her baby. Baby was born fine!
