My sister-in-law is looking into daycare and the cost for an infant. She was told $175 by a place near her home. When my oldest was in daycare it was only $105. What will she be looking at in costs? I know that I had to supply formula, diapers, food and wipes so there is NO WAY I would then trun around and pay $175!

I think that is horribly high, but if she was looking into daycare centers that really is no the low end of the scale. I charge $100 a week across the board for my in home daycare. The parents do have to provide diapers, wipes, formula and baby food until the child is eating table food. I think pretty common for in home daycares is $100-$125 for infants it just really depends on what area of town you are looking and a few other factors. I am in Millard off 138th and Harrison.

I pay $120 per week for an in home daycare. Centers will be more expensive, and I'm sure you still have to provide all those things.
i think it depends on if it was a home daycare or a center. and what they offer.
that price really isn't overly high, i know plenty of moms who pay close to that as well.
supplying your own formula, diapers ect is normal considering there is no way a provider can purchase all the different types of diapers and formulas etc that each individual parent uses for their child.
it all depends on what other activities or amenaties they supply, but not diapers/formula..haven't ever heard of ANY provider supplying that.
Hello I am in C.B. and for babies under 1 year I charge $125 and over a year its $100 a week. I supply wipes, baby food and cereal for the baby.
Most center-based care is more expensive than in-home childcare. In my area (132/Pacific), the average rate for 0-18 months is around $150 with the parent providing diapers/formula/etc. There are centers that I know of that are charging over $200/week.
Many in-home providers supply formula as they are reimbursed by the USDA Food Program. She may want to take that into consideration when choosing where to place her child.
