Special Mommy Moments

In honor of Mother’s Day, we would like to acknowledge all those who are performing what is truly the most difficult and important job in the world — being a mom.

Today, members of the Mamapedia community generously share that one special moment that makes being a mother so worthwhile.

Joanne T. answers from East Northport:
I found I am very good and playing ‘pretend’ with my 4 year old! My favorite part though is when she says “Be mommy now,” and then gives me a kiss and tells me she loves me. She then says, “Okay pretend again,” like the game never stopped.

There are just so many little moments everyday where she just lights up my life!

Tracyxo answers from Grand Prairie:
My favorite thing about being a mom is the sense of purpose and direction it gives me. There is a great satisfaction knowing that I am needed, that I am good at something, that I am fulfilling my Godly purpose, and that I am loved unconditionally.

Kristy C. answers from Texarkana:
My favorite mom moments are those sleepy cuddles I get from my 22 month-old DS once he has finally calmed down for the day, and those sweet gummy smiles I get from my 3 month-old DS just because I looked at him and told him mommy loves you so much…. :)

Nbinmn answers from Minneapolis:
Today my teen, after a few semi rough/emotional teen days, popped on Facebook chat with me on her class break at school just to say, “Hey Mom…I love you, ya know…..”

It’s more than enough to get me through the dry spells……

Catwalk W. answers from Rocky Mount:
I have enjoyed everything about being a mom…truly.

It has molded me into a better person than I ever thought possible. My kiddos have taught me FAR more lessons than I have taught them. I am blessed.

ღ I Love My Boys ღ answers from Tacoma:
Being able to watch my son’s personality grow, and seeing my husband’s best qualities in him, along with some of my own.

Watching him grow, laugh and learn new things everyday is what makes me feel like I am doing a good job as his Mom.

Kaycee N. answers from Frisco:
The ‘I love yous’ that come out of nowhere.
The truly sincere hugs.
Snuggling!
The innocent and unconditional, unspoiled love they have for you.

A.Blue answers from Denton:
Everything, in short, everything about being a mother is “the best thing.” On the deepest, most profound level, though, when you become a mother you finally learn the true meaning of “unconditional love.”

Mom22Girlygirls answers from Fort Worth:
So many things!!!

-That sweet baby smell!

-The first gummy smile that melts your heart!

-The random “I love you mommy.”

-Getting to experience the world again through innocent eyes.

Crispymama answers from The Colony:
Seeing my son smile and hearing his laugh! That’s the best sound in the world!

K C. answers from Lewisville:
When you go to pick them up after working all day, and they will bulldoze everything in their way just to get into your arms.

K C. answers from Fort Worth:
When they first say “Mama!” It’s wonderful!

C T. from Denton answers:
Holding my children in my arms when they are sleeping.

Rebecca H. answers from Dallas:
Waking up and getting those sweet morning hugs to start your day. Seeing the joy in their faces when they see you after being apart! How hearing the first cries of my baby being born always made me cry. Experiencing an unconditional love that only grows stronger every day of your child’s life!

Stephani L. answers from Sachse:
Knowing that your child thinks you can do anything!

Emily C. answers from Plano:
I agree with the momma that said holding their child in her arms while they sleep…that is a love like none other. I was also overwhelmed with love the first time my son kissed me because he wanted to, not because I asked.

Bethyskids answers from Arlington:
When your toddler takes a second from her day to give you a hug and pat your back with those tiny little hands and say, “wuf u!”

Joanna J. answers from Carrollton:
Realizing a whole new level of love. Before I had kids, I truly could not imagine loving anyone as much as I loved my dogs. How awful that sounds now, as much as I still love them. Having children literally seemed to open up a whole new kind of love that I never dreamed existed.

Just in case you don’t hear it anywhere else today — Happy Mother’s Day, everyone!
