Not Producing Enough Milk for 3 Week Old Infant- Supplement?

My 3 week old infant has a huge appetite. My milk supply is in and he eats everything that I produce plus what I pump but at certain times of the day he's still super hungry. (So far he's gaining weight with no problem). We've been supplementing with an additional 2 oz of formula 1 to 2 times a day but I'm wondering if this is the best approach- should we try to hold him off instead to wait for breastmilk to replenish? How Much Solid Food?

Does anyone know the amount of solid food a 7.5 month old should be getting? I feed her solids 3x a day - about 2.5 teaspoons. But she seems starving! She is now nursing every 1.5 hours during the day (unless she is napping) and it is driving me nutso! She is not going through a growth spurt as this has been going on for over 2 weeks now, and gs last 3 days. So - can I up the solids? Not sure.....?
