When my son was 6 months old, he was diagnosed with whopping cough. Since that time, whenever he gets a cold, he also gets a cough from hell (excuse the term)! I declined to give him steriods at that time, as he was too young/too small(side effects...). Over the weekend his cough got so bad, that we were up all night with him. I finally agreed to the oral steriod and an inhaler (Albuterol) for a short time. He has been on both for three days. Advice on Allergies and Asthma in 4 Year Old

My daughter will be 4 in July and we have had two trips to the ER since January due to coughing fits and once by ambulance because she stopped breathing (found out she had pneumonia). I saw an allergist who said she definitly has Asthma. He prescribed Zyrtec, Nasonex, and Advair. I don't believe my daughter needs all of these medications and I'm seeking a second opinion this week. I gave my daughter the Zyrtec and this morning she had a coughing fit, followed by vomiting. I won't give her the Advair until I see a Pulm. Specialist. I...

Asthma and Pregnancy

Hi everyone. I have pretty severe asthma with this pregnancy (23 weeks) and am on a steroid based inhaler class b 3 puffs twice a day. Still not getting better (in fact worse) and my dr wants be to use flovent which is class c. I'm nervous about trying it and just would like some feedback from others who have asthma, or used flovent, or even other more natural things I can do! Thanks in advance!

Is It Allergies, Asthma or Something Else? Please Help My Son.

I am losing a battle. My son, who is now 2 1/2, was diagnosed with RSV at 3 months. Since then, he has suffered from horrible allergy like symptoms. It doesn't APPEAR it is related to food and more from weeds ect. He has been diagnosed with multiple lung infections, including pneumonia twice THIS year. Now they say he has asthma. He has been on everything including Pulmicort, Albuterol, Xopenex, Clariton, Zyrtec, Flovent and multiple oral steriods and antibiotics. I am scared. I feel that all of this is damaging him and I don't know...
