For Families
We were recommended to this daycare from currently enrolled families. Not disappointed in the least! Leaving this daycare for $$$ reasons made us cry! We loved the place, loved the learning, loved the owner. I personally asked many mom's about the negative comment - they all said that lady was terminated. Oh, well. We estimate once our 2nd darling enters K next summer, we will enroll her. Two children in childcare hurts $$$. Get a tour, enroll, talk to current parents. This lady has parents there since their kids were 2 yrs old. Just the facts.
The educational opportunities that Little Cubs Daycare provides are outstanding; however, the owners stand in their own way of this becoming an exceptional daycare.
Vanessa is not confidential in any way whatsoever. I do not personally know any of the other families, nor do I ask any questions about them, but this is what she has told my ex-husband and I over the past 8 months:
-One child has a learning disability and processes very slow.
-One child is so big for her age that she might be a good candidate for her doctoral study on childhood obesity.
-One child's parents most likely don't take him to the doctor and follow a homeopathic regimen
-One mother is a "worry-wart" and will talk for 45 minutes about her concerns that her son is being picked on.
Once again, I have never once asked for any of this information. My ex-husband and I have always been amazed at how much she talks about other families.
It is truly unfortunate that Vanessa is so unprofessional in her dealings with parents.
I can not say enough about Vanessa, Scott and Little Cubs! This is not just a day care but a family care as well. From the minute I walked into the building I knew I had found the perfect place for my 3 year old daughter. Warm, inviting, caring with a firm but gentle hand! My daughter is thriving and loves to "go to school'!!!
Unfortunately, our last day is today b/c family is relocating. My son is 3 & did amazing at Little Cubs. He learned sign language, toddler tumbling, preschool painting, and little Yoga! He's where he should be with reading, writing, math for his age. Before Little Cubs our biggest issue was his shyness. The smaller atmosphere did wonders for him. We hope to find another homedaycare in our new town.
Both of our daughters went to this daycare/preschool and we were very happy. The curriculum is straight forward, lesson plans are posted on the website, and she gives the kids really good meals. I was almost ashamed at myself at what I made for dinner sometimes in comparison! My girls learned a lot and are well prepared to head of to kindergarten this August. One more thing, the fees are great with sibling discounts too! Who can beat that in Ballantyne! We're not all rich! Highly recommend.
