Irish Dance Idaho is in it's fourth year with a new studio in the Steelwood Complex. Dedicated to bringing quality entertainment to the Treasure Valley and beyond, they dance both graceful, yet powerful soft shoe and athletic, thundering hard shoe - unique to Irish step. The teachers encourage energetic, artistic precision, bringing enjoyment to appreciative audiences throughout the state of Idaho. IDI's exclusive choreography allows creativity and innovation, blending traditional steps into show-style performances pieces. Even the novice can appreciate step and technique handed down over hundreds of years from our beautiful Emerald Isle cousins across the sea. With a strong performance focus and competition in moderation, they have danced throughout the Treasure Valley and beyond, supporting important events such as Boise Leukemia Foundation's Light the Night, The World Special Olympics Invitational Closing Ceremonies, Sun Valley's Trailing of the Sheep Festival, St. Al's Festival of Trees, St. Lukes Women's Fitness Show, Boise City Arts Commission's World Fest, Boise Music Week, Emmett Cherry Festival, Nampa Civic Center's World Showcase, both the Treasure Valley Highland Games and Canyon County Scott's Heavy Games, Malad Folk Dance Festival, and many many more.
The difficulty of the steps and teamwork within the school require long hours of practice, which of necessity, forms a group of people who encourage and build each other to create an enriching, positive, unparalelled dance community experience.
A fourth generation Idahoan, Rebecca CCID, TCRG has been teaching Irish step in the Boise valley for six years, four of those years with her own school. Rebecca became certified at 18 to teach through the Association of American Irish Dance Teachers, specifically through Kenn Brennan on the East Coast. AAIDT - partnered with two world wide organizations - WIDA based in mainland Europe, and Cumann Rince Dea Mheasa to form the largest independent Irish dance organization in the world. Rebecca now sits on the national board as a co-chair and is the northwest representative.
We have homeschool specific classes, adult classes, team classes, and regular classes with ages 4-50!
