Gerri has given my duaghter lessons over the past year and has done a commendable job. She is extremely knowledgeable and ensures the safety of all the children. She has never pushed my daughter beyond her ability and she is a fantastic instructor. She makes the riding lessons fun and enjoyable for the kids and I know my daughter is safe with her.

Gerri is a fantastic riding instructor, she does a great job with kids of all ages, my daughter has been with her for 3 years now, when she started she was scared of horses, and now with Gerri's guidance she is doing her own training under saddle of her 4 year old horse. Gerri is a hands on trainer, she will get on her horse and ride with the kids, which helps my daughter a lot, because she is one that learns more when you can show her what you want her to do, she can see just how she should do what you are asking her, and Gerri is very good about riding with the girls so they can get a visual of how she wants things done. She also teaches the kids how to care for their horse and to learn the feel of the horse, her advanced students can tell her when their horse is having a problem, either out of adjustment, a sore foot or leg.
She is such a good instructor, that she nominated my daughter as Student of the Year with ARIA, and my daughter came in 2nd runner up for this awesome honor. She was also nominated as Instructor of the year, and came in as a runner up.
We have had a lot of kids come and go, and Gerri's favorite saying is not everyone can work with everyone, she says people come and people go, as long as they find someone that they can work with, that is the most important thing.
She also tells her students, if you reach a point in my training that you feel I'm not taking you in the direction you want to go, if it is something that I don't teach tell me and I'll help you find someone in that field that can take you there.
She has a very professional attitude, and she doesn't bad mouth other trainers, she will tell her students, we all teach in our own way, that doesn't make mine right and their's wrong, what works for me might not work for someone else and the other way around, what works for them doesn't necessarily work for me.
My daughter has followed Gerri in her moves from the barn in which we met her, when she left there to go to a barn, where she could control her show horse's care, then from there to her new facility at her home, which was her goal for some time, and she has finally been able to reach that goal and has a very nice 8 stall barn, plus 3 outside stalls, which is the small barn she started with, that she converted from a 2 stall barn to a 3 stall one.
She teaches her students, about the care of there horses from the type of feed they eat, to the amount a normal horse should poop each day, and she has done such a good job with her students, that when she went to California to pick up her new filly, she left her barn in the care of 2 of her students and their mom's, knowing that all would be taken care of just as if she were there. Gerri is an all around wonderful person, with compassion for horse's and her students. She does not like drama, and she tells the kids and parents, leave the drama at the gate and pick it back up on your way out....
Hats off to Gerri Lundergan and Dunpainted Farms...
Also I have to say Gerri's husband is a great guy, he is very supportative of Gerri and her goals. They make a great team.
