My husband and I were freaked out when the doctor's told me I had pre-eclampsia at my 38 week appointment and admitted me to the hospital on the spot to induce me. Afterall, this was NOT how I had wanted it to be! After being induced, the labor pains became very hard, but with Vanessa at our sides she helped keep us both calm. I was able to breathe through the contractions and not use drugs. Then when my baby started having fetal distress due to the contractions they sent me in for an emergency c-section, another surprise that we weren't prepared for. Vanessa looked directly at us and reassured us we were doing the right thing and stayed with us the entire time, even though it was the wee hours of Thanksgiving morning and she had a whole house full of people coming over. She's the greatest, I'd give her 10 stars!

I couldn't have done a non-intervention birth without Vanessa! She is incredible!

Vanessa's presence at the birth of my first child was the best decision we could have made. My husband is not comfortable with medical settings and not assertive with medical personnel. Vanessa guided me through pain management decisions (which I did not intend to need) thanks to back labor! She coached my husband to provide me with encouragement and love and she took many many pictres that we would never have without her knowledge of the birthing process and medical setting. I highly encourage anyone who wants "cliff notes" in their labor and delivery room to hire Vanessa.

During the birthing process, Vanessa seemed to know exactly what I needed and when. Her encouragement and support was a very important part of my ability to stick to my plan for a natural birth.

Our birth didn't go as planned. I was nearly phobic about having a c-section so, of course, our little one was both transverse and sunny side up. After 12 hours of unmedicated back labor, he still hadn't budged and the doctors decided a c-section was necessary. Vanessa to the rescue! She kept me and my husband both calm and I shudder to think what a mess we would have been without her. Because of her support, I look back on that day with pride. I fear it would have been a horror story without her.

My labor and delivery experience was amazing and Vanessa was a major reason for that. She was with me every step of the way first as our childbirth educator and then as our doula. She has an incredible amount of knowledge about the birthing process and about labor techniques. She took the time to listen to our wishes for our daughter's birth and helped me to have the natural birth I was hoping for. I cannot say enough about how much she did to support not only me, but also my husband and my daughter. We have wonderful memories and pictures now to cherish forever. We truly were blessed that Vanessa came into our lives!

Vanessa was a life-saver. I was having a lot of anxiety during hard labor and she helped me focus so I could get through each contraction. Vanessa's knowledge, expertise and personality make her an excellent Doula. If we decide to have another baby, we will definitely be calling Vanessa again!

Vanessa is passionate about what she does and is well informed about current practice in her field. Her energy and enthusiasm make her a wonderful support for expectant parents today!

Where do I begin? Vanessa was both our childbirth educator and our birth doula. Hiring her was seriously one of the best decisions I have ever made. She was such a great support to me during the last few weeks of my pregnancy (provided me with some very reassuring pep talks during the 11 day period that my daughter was overdue and I was about to crack) and during the birth. This woman has a gift. I am so grateful to her for helping to make my daughter's birth such an amazing and positive experience. I can't imagine having done it without her.

Vanessa was such a calming and supportive influence during the later stages of my pregnancy and during the delivery. She provided childbirth classes in our home at times that worked with our schedule, and it was wonderful to be able to just sit and talk with her and have all of our questions answered. She's very informed about all aspects of pregnancy and childbirth, and is a wonderfully warm and caring individual. My husband and I were so thankful to work with her. The pictures she took immediately after the delivery are priceless, as well.

Vanessa was amazing during the birth of my son.She was very calming and reassuring throughout the whole process. She knew what to do and when to do it.She knew i didn't want the epidural if i could handle the delivery without one and she helped me stay focused. She did all she said she would do and MORE and i can't thank her enough for the amazing experience she helped create. Looking forward to having her again at my other deliveries. i would recommend her to EVERYONE i know who needs an amazing doula!!! :)

Vanessa helped make our birthing experience simply amazing. She not only answered any question we or family members could come up with, but was more importantly a calming, reassuring voice in a time of unknown. My husband and I couldn't be more thankful for all she did and would recommend her to anyone!

When I reflect on the birth of my daughter, I remember it as an amazingly positive experience. Both my husband and I feel that is largely due to the fact that Vanessa was with us. My goal was to get through labor without an epidural, despite the fact that I was induced. She really helped me to be calm and focused, and I don't know if I could have reached my goal without her. She knew when to step back, when to jump in, what to say & do... and she took the most precious, wonderful pictures!

Vanessa has supported my wife and I during the births of both our children. We found her to be reliable (does what she says she'll do), well-informed and a clear communicator. We highly recommend her.

I will always cherish the support Vanessa gave me throughout my labor and delivery of my son. My goal was to deliver without the use of drugs or other interventions and I truly believe I would not have been able to achieve that goal had it not been for the calm and always reassuring, gentle but firm commands of Vanessa helping me through each stage.
