Youth Group(s) in San Antonio TX

Just recently moved to the San Antonio area actually living in Selma near 1604/I35. I am looking for a good Christian/Non-denominational church to attend with comtemporary worship and a large strong youth ministry to keep my 14 yr old plugged in. We attended Journey last Sunday and unfortunately we weren't even acknowledeged. My son was very disappointed. Don't need another experience like that. He is a social butterfly so that was very unusual and uncomfortable for him.

What can I do next?

I don't know about churches in the area or anything.

Our daughter and a lot of her friends go to Young Life. I think it is al over the country, not sure. They have a lot of activities and it is very social.

It is Christain based but I don't think it is denominational. I don't think it is affiliated with any specific church.... I've seen all types of teens there.

Good luck.

I haven't gone to this church yet, but I hear really good things about Crosspoint Fellowship Church. It is in Schertz on 3009 down past the HEB. Here is their website http://crosspoint247.com/. Hope this helps!

We love Community Bible Church off 1604 and Gold Canyon. We live in Cibolo and the drive is worth it. It is a mega church but with all the small groups you'll feel right at home.

Welcome to SA!!! You're gonna love it here!!!

Please consider River City Community Church (www.reallife.org). That is our church. We have a wonderful Youth Group...If I had to guess, I'd say about 60 students at any given time...Of course, that's MY guess.

Both of my children are heavily involved in the Youth (my step daughter [15, Sophomore] is too when she visits us and has kept a lot of these friends online when she is back home). My eldest (17, Junior) leads Worship and is a Core member. My little one (11, 6th grade) is working her way into Worship.

They have weekly meetings (Wednesdays), two services geared for the Youth on Sundays, monthly service projects and other activities throughout the year (ie - Youth Christmas, Bond Fire, 5th Quarter, lock-ins, etc.)...and they are planning a major Mission Trip this summer.

I spoke to my eldest this morning after reading your post and she said she'd be more than happy to meet your son before Youth on Wednesdays or a Sunday to introduce him to some of the group and the leaders.

We are located at Redland Road and Jones Maltsberger (you can take 1604 West, exit Redland Road, turn left and you will run into RCCC on the right, at the corner of Redland and Jonesy).

We are not LARGE (like CBC or Cornerstone)...But it works for us. I know it's important for you son to be plugged in...Our kids walked in 4 years ago and were welcomed like they had been there for years. THAT was a comfort to us, to know they were plugged in, loved and cared about.

Contact me at ____@____.com if I can answer anymore questions. Hope to see you ALL soon!!!

There is The Tree of Life Church. It is in New Braunfels but it's not that far from you. It is IH35 right as you are getting into town. From San Antoino: Take IH 35 North and exit Engel road. They have a great youth group.
Check out their website. http://www.treeoflifechurch.org
Good Luck and God Bless

Community Bible Church is the hot ticket these days. 1604/281, plus they have other branches. Everyone loves it.
