When my little BATMAN knocked on the door and this very old woman said to him, my what a cute Batlady! He said lady, I'm Batman and I'm a boy can't you SEEE MEEE! It was the funniest thing ever :)
Took my daughter Trick or treating for the first time, she's three. I thought my favorite part was going to be her actually trick or treating. I will admit I got a big kick out of her going to people and saying Tree or Stream, then Track or Rea, that finally ended up being Truck or Tream. LOL However, when we got home she ended up LOVING handing out candy and sharing. I was so proud! ANd most of the people got a big kick out of her especially since she was yelling at everyone, "Come here Truck or Tream!" So funny.
What was your favorite part of Halloween?

I like the preparation--carving the pumpkins and getting them lit at the beginning of the night.
decorating my house and my children!
This boy who is around 12 or 13 had a grim ripper custome and hid behind a bush to scare the kids. I spotted him so I said to my daughter see that little boy he's hiding so that he can scare you. She saw him and yelled boo!! So we make our way to the door and she is yelling boo. He jumped out of the bushes and my daughter took off running. It was so funny. I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants. His sister gave my dd the candy and we left. While we were walking she said Mommy I want to go back to that boys house so I can scare him. I said I thought he scared you. She said naw I just didn't want him to touch me. That was the best part of the night.
I just love seeing all the little ones with their costumes . . . reminds me so much of the old days with my two. It actually makes me cry LOL (well, I *do* wait until I have shut the door).
before last night, I'd have said - when it's over (because now we get to the good holidays - LOL) But I watched my youngest last night be so independent and fearless. He is a bit of a mama's boy, youngest child, etc SO PROUD of his attitude and the way he shared and took turns (we were in a large group of friends). He even went up to a "scary" house. So, this year it was a joy to see him in a new light. :)
My favorite part is helping the kids pick a costume and seeing how excited and happy they are during all the lead up to the day. They get giddy when I put face paint on them and we're about to head out. The anticipation is the best part.
I loved when my 23 month old would hold up his little pumpkin bucket and yell "T-Teet!" and then hold up whatever he got at the door to show us, and yell "COOL!"
I liked watching my just turned 5 year old show me his personality and knowing what was behind his costume choice (or change) this year. From just a costume to being a Marine like his great grandpa (whose funeral was this past Thursday). That meant something to us, but was ALL his choice and his idea.
We do like the little traditions: hollowing out the pumpkin and roasting the seeds, the kids' delight with the "pumpkin's face", making candied and caramel apples, and popcorn balls, dancing the Monster Mash together, watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" on dvd while I cook the first gumbo of the year (to warm us up when we get home), taking lots of pictures, when the kids go to bed sneaking a sweet tarts pack out of their bowl, and of course I love how the neighborhood is all friendly and talkative, interacting with each other instead of just going about their own business.
Decorating the outside of my house!!!! We have (if I do say so myself) the scariest house in our neighborhood! All the kids love coming to our house for Halloween night (the little one's get scared) My husband dresses up and scares them..
We have TONS of really cool decorations, fog machines, strobe lights, life size scary talking people, HUGE spiders, a graveyard, etc etc etc.Every year, the day after Halloween, I buy more for next year with all the sales :0)
My favorite part was walking from door to door with my kids. I miss that. My youngest is now 23.
We had a large raggedy Andy doll the kids loved. When my kids were around three, we would take the raggedy Andy suit off the doll and they would wear it trick or treating with a raggedy Andy wig. They were ssssoooo cute in that.
The kids must have gone to trick or treat functions at churches or clubs. There weren't any lights on in our neighborhood and no trick or treaters. Obama's economy has done so much damage to what people can afford to do.
Good luck to you and yours.
My favorite part of Halloween this year was trick or treating with a group. It was the first year we did that. We went with 2 families we are friends with in the neighborhood (one family- their twins are in my daughter's class and the other family- their girls play with my kid daily). It was so cool to watch my daughter run from house to house with her friends and compare candy bags and laugh and have fun. Reminded me of Halloweens as a kid- we always went in groups and it was the best part of the night for me- being with my friends. I loved that my daughter got that experience too.
my favorite was walking around with my daughter going trick or treating and looking at everyone's costume.
Cute story :) I went trick or treating with my 4 and 7 year olds as well as some of their friends. I dressed as a vampire and just before pictures I put in fangs. One of my daughter's friends asked how I got those teeth. I jokingly said I grew them. The next morning my 4 year old looked at me and asked how I "ungrew" those teeth, followed by saying, "I love Halloween."
My favorite part (as a kid and as an adult) has always been emptying the bag onto the table to see what and how much we got. My daughter gives us a great reaction: eyes go really wide like she hit the jackpot. LOL
Glad you had a fun night! :-)
Oh man, I like all of it! I didnt love Halloween as a kid, but now that I have kids its one of my favorite Holidays! I love how they get excited about going out, and when they do get out they just smile from ear to ear the whole time. I love how cute they act and people laughing at how cute my kids are. Eeeee, I love it!!!
