I have about two dozen leftover candy canes - peppermint and the variety pack. I have found some recipes online for the peppermint ones but what to do with the fruity ones? Tell me your favorite ideas for both?

What can I do next?

Peppermint-type bark. Save *all* the candy canes in a ziploc until November. Then unwrap them and crush them to smithereens. Melt a layer of dark chocolate (the melting chocolate you can find at the grocery), pour it into a foil-lined cookie sheet, and let it cool thoroughly. Melt a layer of light chocolate, pour it over the dark chocolate, and sprinkle crushed candy in abundance. Refrigerate, break into pieces, and store in tins until it's time to box the pieces up and give them to friends and neighbors. The peppermint is the traditional flavor, but the fruity canes add a little surprise "pop" that is really pleasing.

I like the peppermint one crushed up and on top of hot chocolate. I don't like the fruity ones but both my sisters do and they like them in fruit smoothies.

I do love peppermint ice cream. IF you have an ice cream maker, you can make some of your own.

I crush up left over candy canes and put them in cupcakes. You can put them in the cake and/or frosting.
