Just wondering what the youngest age that you other moms have successfully potty trained boys? I already know the recommended time is 2.5 to 3, but just wondered if any of you have had success earlier?

My son was in cloth diapers and we potty trained him at 18 months. He still had accidents now and then, but mostly it's been smooth sailing--we even moved cross country when he turned two and didn't regress. We do, however, still use diapers at nap time and night time.

My son potty trained at 26 months! It was really easy but he had an older sister to learn by example from. He was definately ready and once he did a #2 on the potty he was fully potty trained.

My friend just potty trained her boy by the age of 2. My son was 2.5. I don't believe that you have to wait even that long, but it's the trend right now. Before Pampers were born, babies were in cloth diapers, and moms potty trained their children right around 1.5.

I just want to say how lucky you moms are with the early trainers. My son did not train until he was 4. Lucky ducks!

R., it just goes to show, each kid is completely different.

Good luck, I hope your boy is on the young side.

Hi R. !

I think each kid is different and some will be ready first than others i was always told thet boys take more time than girls and i should wait for my son to be 3 years , with my daughter took me exactly 3 days but i was ready to spend a month but i guess she liked the idea of being rewarded ( w/stickers ) each time till i " runed out of stickers " then she just was ok to do it without rewards , she was 20 month old .
With my son i was thinking to wait ,but every time i was in the bathroom or my daughter he was asking what are you doing ? what are you doing ? so we have to answer :/ and one day he was calling me from the bathroom when i got there he said " look what i did " pointing the toilet and there was #1 and #2 so my daughter and i make a big deal out of it and he felt so excited about it , he was only 26 month old.
