M.M.
She's 2. My very blonde two year old would go up to very dark, black men only and call them Dada and give them kisses.
My husband is very fair and blonde. She grew out of it.
I have a very weird question. One of my neices are diffrent not looking but with their attitude. When strangers are around she acts diffrent, sometimes to get attention. I would say attention because as her parents tell her to behave she will look passed them and look at the strangers and keep doing it. She is two but it's been notices since she was about six months old. Another example was her mom had some repair men come work in her ketchen. This wasn't a big thing just switch out the fridge. She wanted to go hug and hang on their legs. She dosn't do this to women she acts diffrently like you should act to strangers. My sister and her husband actually adopted her at nine months she is his sisters daughter. I have heard them talk about the mom has ADD and to this day needs meds to keep normal or what ever that means. I have noticed this also when they are visiting. One time she had got ahold of a small peice of dirt on the floor and she got upset and staired at us like we where gonna do somthing. I know kids act out on their parents when they don't want to be told no but why does she look at strangers like they can intervein with her parents teaching? Not sure if anyone may know what this is but just asking.
For rebecca yes my sister and I both well I went with them for her two year old check up and the ped. Did look at her privates and she was normal I was the one that asked that question because I wondered the same thing. So that was ruled out.
To Victoria, Her mom is actually a smoker (marajuana) and does drink most likely did both while pregnant!

This is possibly WAY off base, as I am not very knowledgeable about FAS, but am learning...
But, since they Do know something about the birth mom (hubby's sister?)... any chance that she was drinking during her pregnancy? Fetal Alcohol Syndrome can cause kids to not have the proper neurological filters that screen out inappropriate behavior. For instance, not recognizing personal space.
Just a thought...
Funny because my 9 month old does the same thing when I scold him. He looks at anyone else in the room, then smiles. Even if it's the cashier at the store. He went through a biting phase and when I'd say "Don't bite!" he'd look at his siblings, dad or cashier and wait for them to look at him, then he'd smile. The other things might just be her personality.
she could just be doing it for attention. or she could be trying to tell them that SOMETHING happened to her especially if it is just around males. I would actually take her to the pedi and have them take a look at her to see if anything has happened
My daughter was the same way. She especially loved older men. She grew out of it of coarse, but in the mean time she made the day of some loving men. Don't worry about how things are now, trust me, they will change!
Too small to wonder about these big things...leave her alone for a while, we all know two y.o. are "original" in so many ways...
