I have been thinking about this since the second JFF came up. You know you are lucky when you don't feel like you have it better or worse than anyone else. :)
Most of the answers were really funny but some of them made me think god I am so lucky I don't feel that way. I was a stay at home mom for 18 years and never felt like my children were a burden. I have been a working mom for six years since my divorce and I don't feel like my job is a burden. I know I am lucky..
So on a positive note, you know you are lucky when.....
Even if that is when your screaming newborn finally fell asleep and looks like an angel. :)
Oh, Amanda, I can do you one better, when your 22 year old still calls you the best mom ever......and doesn't follow it up with an amount of money needed! :p

My neighbors loser husband decided he needed to go run errands this morning (kid free) and decided he just didnt feel like being back in time for his sick wife to go to work.
She frantically brought her one year old here so she didnt get fired.

You are a mom and do NOT **HAVE** to work....
Your husband, who can be a "jerk" sometimes, is overall a great guy and puts up with you!!! (that's me!)
You have kids that you love...and they love you back!!! (I am sure that will change as my oldest son approaches his teen years...but now!! He still might hold my hand in public!!)
when you friends (like YOU, J., Rachel D, Mom2KCK, and a few others) you can call and boo-hoo to!!! And they give you the support you need and tell you what you NEED to hear...not always what you WANT to hear!!!
You know you are lucky when you wake up at 2 a.m. to pee and realize that you can go back to sleep for another few hours before getting up for work and waking the kids up.
You know you are lucky when your kids get a stomach virus and they DON'T puke on the carpet this time!
You know you are lucky when it's Friday night and you know that you don't have to mess with homework for 2 kids that night!
You can appreciate things as wonderfully amazing...even if those things are a colony of ants or the fact that the soup you made turned out excellently.
My most recent "that's amazing" moment was using my new telescope. I could see Jupiter and three moons around it. Isn't life fascinating?

1. I wake up and know I don’t have to rush to work.
2. I know I do not live in Syria or some other crappy country.
3. I see my family and know they love me no matter how crabby I am.
I feel like I'm lucky when I don't have to tell other people how lucky I am or that I'm luckier than they are.
You know you are lucky when you can have a funky fight with your husband oneday and the next remember how much you love each and go back about your lives as no fight existed! And as Cheryl O said have a husband who can be a jerk sometimes and stil puts up with you!
You know you are lucky when you can help someone who is not as lucky as you and you are able to help make a positive in that persons life. :)
I know I am lucky (blessed, really) when I look at my husband and what we have together. We have been through more than the average couple in a much shorter time period (we'll celebrate 8 years soon!). But I know he love me and I know I love him. We have worked hard to get our communication back on track, and our marriage has turned around for the better in the last 6 weeks or so. It's amazing what fixing communication problems can do for a couple.
But I know I'm lucky because we work through it all. Even when people are telling us it's time to give up, we fight harder and make it work.
