Kathy Smith's New Yoga. It's older (from 1994) but it is really good. The pace is great. The music is good. She will remind you not to do stuff, and you realize you were doing it. :)
Hello mamas,
I would like to try some yoga but doesn't have time to go to the real class. Is there any DVD that you recommend? I hope I can't trick my hubby to do yoga with me at home, since he would never set foot in a group thing :)
Thanks!

I teach aerobics and my absolute favorite instructor is Lawrence Biscontini. I take at least one workshop from him every time I go to a convention. You can find his DVD's at www.findlawrence.com. You can even download the dvd's right from his website under 'shop'.
Also, if you have Comcast or AT&T, there are a lot of yoga and pilates videos On Demand for free under the exercise tab or Exercise TV area.
Yes, I would recommend Stephanie Snyder's DVD, Yoga for Strength and Toning. Terrific!

I suggest a DVD with Rodney Yee, especially if you would like to involve your husband. You can begin with Rodney Yee's Yoga for Beginners. I think they sell his DVD's at Target, but I know you can order from www.gaiam.com or amazon.
Hi Mama-
Here is one of my favorites:
It's called total yoga, and this one is the "earth" series. It's for balance, stretching, and strengthening. I am/was a beginner, and I could do most if not all of the poses. It's 45 minutes, but worth every second. And you don't need any equipment. You can use a towel for a lower back roll, I just lay on the floor (sweep it first) for those moves, and do it barefoot in my pajamas.

It also has a bonus "water" series workout on it, which is WAY harder, but worth the workout after you get the hang of the first one.
I also tried "Yoga for Dummies." I know, ha ha, but it really does help introduce you to alot of moves and stretches and takes you through the proper breathing techniques slowly, but surely. I used it prior to the earth flow series and it made a world of difference. PLUS, it was really inexpensive, both of them, and of all the dvd's I have purchased and spent money on--it was the cheapest and I love it the most.
Good luck!

Target has a great selection of yoga DVD's in the aisle that has all the exercise equipment. Gaiam is a good brand and Yoga Burn is one I Like w/ Rodney Yee - you do the best you can and feel really good and TIRED after and gradually find yourself getting stronger. He's got a hot bod which I find inspiring too. ;) I'm too chubby to work out to a cute girl with a perfect butt just yet - it depresses me.
Also, many cable companies offer on demand yoga, pilates and other exercise programs for free. Some of them are short clips from DVD's they hope you'll buy - but hey - sometimes you only have 12 minutes anyway.
Jillian Michaels. It is more active than regular yoga but I like it a lot.
I just asked this question a few days ago :-)
I found some old tapes I had by Wai Lana. I got them at TJ Max for a really good deal. I've started using some of her tapes instead of my P90x ones just for some variety. I really like her and feel super relaxed, but energized afterwards.
My in-laws are really into Bob Harper's Yoga video. I haven't tried it myself, but they love it! Have fun!
