Yo Gabba Gabba

Has anyone seen the Yo Gabba Gabba Live show and paid for the upgrade for the party package? It costs almost $100 more per ticket and for that you get: seats within the first 15 rows, VIP party after the show with the characters, healthy snacks, and a picutre. You also get hassle free shopping as they have a merchandise table in there. My husband wants to pay for the upgrade but I am thinking that is not really a lot to get for the extra money.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you for all the responses. I did not want to spend the extra money and sent the stream of responses to my husband. He know agrees. I liked the idea of doing the cheaper tickets and then a fun lunch or dinner afterwards. Thank you ladies!

I didn't even know there was a Yo Gabba Gabba live...awesome! I'll have to look for it to come this way! You're saying $100/ticket??? That's a bit crazy to me. If it were a $100 total, that is more reasonable, but if you're kids are young enough that they're watching Yo Gabba Gabba, they probably won't really remember the whole VIP treatment for that many years. If you're not comfortable with it, don't do it.

That's WAY too much for a kids show! I'd think twice about paying that much for concert tickets for my favorite bands!
to me it sounds very spoiling.

R.,

If you've got the extra money, I say go for it.
$100 is a bit much for a VIP treatment, But I know if I had the extra money, I'd do it for my daughter, As she just absolutely loves the show.

If you don't have the extra money, then don't.
There will be other fun things you can do later on.

I don't know how many kids you are taking, but even if you only have one child, you are looking at an extra $300 for a 45 minute party. Granted, I wouldn't expect that very many people are going to pay the extra for that, but it isn't going to be just your child or children at this party. You will have other families around that the characters are dividing their attention with. Also, the photo is taken is posted for you online... it's just a digital download, so you have to have it printed on your own. (For that much extra, the merchandise table should be free, but you can bet it'll be expensive stuff as well.) Only one of my kids has ever watched the show on television, and she's not yet 2, so for my family personally, there's no way I'd make that kind of an upgrade. If your family is able to afford it and it wouldn't hurt your financial situation, and if it is something that would truly be meaningful to your family, then I'd say go for it. Otherwise, I'd put that money back for other things. It would easily cover several more family outings.

Is it just for fun or for a birthday? If it is for a birthday, I'd say do it if you have the money.....parties cost just as much.

If it's just because and you have the money, do it if you want.

The truth is everyone places different values on things depending on the amount of disposable money they have.

I would say it is too much because I don't value that kind of thing....but I will blow 100 bucks on plants for my garden which other people would think is silly.

I think a fun silly event that costs a lot once a year is fun...do it. But if you think hubby is spending money you don't have, then I'd forego it! You can pay for regular tix and then spend a bit extra going to a fun place for lunch or dinner before or afterwards.

If you have the money -go for it! I try to be limiting in what I buy my kids, but if I have the money to give them an experience or enhance an experience for them, I do it. If this is going to eat into your budget though -or if you could do another fun family activity the next weekend with that money (that you won't be able to do if you spend it at Yo Gabba Gabba), I wouldn't do it. I personally think $100 PER TICKET is a bit much. If it would just be $100 more overall -maybe not such a big deal.

My MIL called and apparently it's the only way to guarantee that your child will get to meet the characters.

Your kids are lucky that they are even going to see a live show! Now a days, it seems like it is the norm rather than a real treat. If you have a lot of money then I guess 100 dollars exta will not matter but I think fo the majority of people it is pretty extravagent. Plus you said you wanted to do "Hassle free shopping"? How much will that be? How old are your children, btw?
