Check out Sharks and minnows. We have been using them for our 3 yr old 2 summers in a row and we love it.
My 3 1/2 yr old dtr needs swim lessons...2 locations of Ymca (in my area) have a program....one is twice a week for a month and the other is 4days m-th. for two weeks. Any advise on if shorter and consecutive days are better or the twice a week for a month is better...What has been your experience?
Thanks for all your input...I will be going the route of more consecutive & shorter..I let you know how it goes,,because of our summer vacations..I won't be able to start til later in the month. Thanks again ladies...You Rock.
Update - we did the lessons for two consecutive weeks and she is now swimming pretty well underwater, my husband and I reinforce the lessons by taking her swimming about 4 times a week, plus we also swam with her after each lesson was over...It's turned out pretty great and I will getting her more lessons to get her swimming even better..So worth it,,we have lots of fun in the pool now.

I think the more days in a row the better- and you can decide if you want to sign up for the next consecutive back-to-back lessons with the same teacher
Shorter and consecutive worked best with my sons. They get more practice. I've done Sharks and Minnows with my sons since age 2 (now 7 & 4). Some years I'd sign up for a second session after the first 8 lessons. A good teacher will tell you whether they need to continue or they've got it.
Hello A.,
Just a suggestion, City of Oviedo Community Center has swim lessons for children with several different schedules for close in price. I believe their prices vary depending on if you are a resident of Oviedo or not. Here is there site: http://www.cityofoviedo.net/index.php?q=node/233.
Have fun,

I did the program that is 2 weeks long. Kids need constant reinforcement. Unless you are going to practice the skills everyday I would go to the 2 week long lessons. Those worked best for me! :)
