Magic eraser got it out of my carpet, off my kitchen table and walls and off of my blue jeans. Might be worth a shot!
I found a permanent marker without a lid when I came down from my shower this morning. My 2 1/2 year old had pushed a chair over and climbed up to get a permanent marker, then drew on his brother's bedroom carpet.
I poured alcohol on it and got up a lot of it, then used hand sanitizer (I think because it's a gel, it sat on it longer and dissolved even more ink). It lightened it a lot, but the stain is still obvious.
And of course, Murphy's Law means that this is a rental, and we're moving out of it within a month. So I can't just move a dresser over it and just live with it.
Does anyone know any tricks I can try? And how quickly I have to get to it?

There is a product out there called Sol U Mel from a company called Melaleuca. This product is amazing! It can get permanent marker even tar out of carpet! the best thing is that their products are all natural with no harsh chemicals... they are safe around your kids and pets! you should request more information... http://www.freedomunitedteam.com/MC6889
Hi S.,
My mom swears by a mix of 1/2 c alcohol, 1/2 c ammonia, 1/2 c water. Getting ready to try myself on our stains. I would get on it ASAP the longer you leave it the more it sets in.

LOC gets it out. Not sure how to find anyone near you but you can always search Quixtar and see. Can't buy it at the store but that stuff will take permanent marker out of anything and it's environmentally friendly. I don't sell it but I can hook you up with my friend that does if you don't want to google.
If the magic eraser works great but keep away from children and pets. It is toxic!
There are two things that you can buy that should both do the job. One is called "OOPS! multi purpose remover" and the other "thoro" you should be able to pick them up in a paint store.. walmart might have one of them too. They are miracle workers, just make sure you test it on a non visible part of the carpet first. I just got a huge wad of gum out of my carpet with the OOPS! Also oxy clean the detergent additive is good for regular stains. Have a great day!
