Has your Dr. tested you for bacterial vaginosis. find out and if not demand the test. On most recurring"yeast infections" this is the cause then you can get it treated.

This may sound kind of weird, but you may have passed the yeast infection on to your husband/boyfriend. He might not have any symptoms at all, but then everytime you two are intimate and you've gotten over yours and stopped treating it, he passes it right back to you! He may actually need to get checked/treated for a yeast infection so that if he does have one, he stops passing it back to you.

Just wondering if you're a diabetic? These patients tend to have more yeast infections especially if sugar is not controlled. Regardless, you shouldn't need to go into the doctor every time you have a yeast infection. Next time you have one, call the office and have them call in a prescription to your pharmacy.

I also take 2 acidophillus (blue and white bottle from GNC) pills once a day when I feel a yeast infection coming on. Also, whenever I drink a beer I notice it seems to happen so I avoid beer. That seems to keep things in check. Good luck.

Do adetox, cut out carbs, sugar, and fermented foods. Look up info on candidiasis albicans, and the Yeast Free Cookbook by Dr. Crook.

Look for "probiotic" foods.

You are too sensitive to sugar and are not replenishing the good bacteria in your gut.

Hi M....My best friend has been plagued with Yeast Infections for years till she tried this. She got it out of a natural home remedy book. She tried it as a last resort and swears to it.Get a small carton of "plain" yogurt, that has Active Cultures. (just make sure it is PLAIN with NO fruit, sugar or flavoring in it)Take a tampon and dip it into the yogurt and insert it into the vagina, allowing it to stay in place for at least an hour or so. My friend would insert one at night before she went to bed and would leave it in till morning.Do this 1-2 times a day for 2-3 days.I know by now you are thinking...this girl is NUTS! but my friend was desperate and was willing to try anything...LOL
As crazy as it sounds this worked for her and she swears by it.
Good Luck

Your husband though not showing symptoms may be carrying it and passing it back to you. Have him take the yeast pills.
Best of Luck. I know how unpleasant the infections are.

Hi M.,
If these other treatments that other Moms have suggested do not work (and I hope they DO work for you!), I would consider visiting your family practitioner instead of your ob/gyn. Sometimes (and I hope this is not the case) recurring yeast infections are a SYMPTOM of an underlying problem. I don't want to scare you by any means, but if you are getting them as often as you are, it needs to be a consideration. Good luck with everything.

ACIDOPHILUS ACIDOPHILUS ACIDOPHILUS. About 16 years ago I was constantly getting yeast infections. One day I saw a different GYN and she told me about this supplement. You can take it as a supplement or eat yogurt. My aunt eats a yogurt daily, but I get sick of yogurt so I take the supplement. The only time I've gotten yeast infections since I started taking it years ago was when I ran out and forgot to buy some more. I don't have to take it daily now and only take it when I feel one coming on. I know you've tried the pills but for how long? Give it a couple months because your cycle can affect your body chemistry. One other small tip for quick itch relief. Try the spray powder Tinactin for jock itch. My OB had me use it on my cesarian scar because it was moist and there was some yeast beginning. I had a little yeast flare up somewhere else due to all the antibiotics I was on and the Tinactin worked in both areas. Good Luck I know what you're going through.

Sorry to hear that you've been uncomfortable lately. I battled with yeast infections for years, but I haven't had one in 3 years (ever since I went off of birth control pills). I really believe that my infections were directly connected to being on the pill, and I tried 4 different kinds. I don't know if you're on the pill, but getting off of it worked for me! Hope this helps.

HI, I soooo sympathize with you, yeast infections are not fun. I used to get yeast infections all the time too and I was frustrated beyond beleif, in the midst of this I happened to switch doctors and He was the first one to prescribe treatment for my husband at the same time I was treating, also he does not reccomend the quickie one day or three day treatments, he says to really get it knocked in the butt, you have to do a full seven days of treatment, also avoid dueching (sp??) as that upsets the natural balance. I am sure you have herd all the advice advising 100%cotton undies and looser fitting pants. I hope this helps the problem. Good Luck L.

Hi M.,
Sorry to hear that you've been dealing with those pesky and quite annoying yeast infections. I've been there and I know it's certainly no picnic. I've read through all of the responses and they are all good advice. I would make sure you do see your regular GP as well and make sure there is no underlying cause. My Mother is a diabetic and deals with these quite often. Another bit of advice Id like to offer is and I know it sounds silly but it really helps. After showering(stay away from baths), pat dry as well as you can and use your hairdryer on a COOL setting to help dry the area. I know it sounds silly but it really helps. Good luck!

I used to have frequent yeast infections just like that. I'd get one just about every month, so I know how frustrating and uncomfortable it can be! I take acidophilus every day (two in the morning) but if that hasn't helped you, that's not much advice. Another thing I'd suggest is wearing cotton undies if you don't already. That allows you to breathe and prevents too much moisture which can cause yeast to thrive. It's good to go "camando" when you can also, even if its just sleeping that way. The only other thing I can think of is being careful not to use any kind of soaps to wash that area even if its "feminine" soap. I just use plain water to wash out with when showering and that helped cut down on the yeast problem as well. I hope I'm not duplicating everyone else's responses since I didn't read any of the others yet! Hope you can get it under control! I know its awfull!

Hi M.,

Walmart sells this wonderful product called, "Yeast Guard" suppositories. It is a 7 day treatment, but let me tell you, IT WORKS! Its not as messy as Monistat, etc. either. I recommend using it at night right before bed.
I definitely would suggest that your husband be treated as well, as you're probably passing it back and forth.(men don't generally get the symptoms we do, so they won't even know they've got it) If you want to use an over the counter product for him, monistat makes an external cream for us women that men can just put on as well. Just have him put it on once a day, like in the morning after his shower, for a week(the same length of treatment for you). Also, abstain from any activity during treatment.
Hope this helps, I know it worked for me and several girls i've told about it! If you want to learn more about it, they have a website with information about all of their products. www.lakecomsumer.com
