I'm 36 years old and i need to get my yearly check up done. Does anyone know what need to be tested at this age? I've been having back, neck, wrist problems since I had the baby. My vision and hearing are bad. In one word, my whole body doesn't function as well as three years ago. Thanks for your help.

What can I do next?

my doctor would tell you that at about age 30-35 you start to feel the signs of aging. I sat there with my mouth agape. But I have to say he is correct.
At this age you should definately have your yearly pap smear. You should also have baseline cholsterols and lipids, complete blood count, and a comprehensive metabolic panel. If you are diabetic the doctor may consider a HBA1c. And maybe a baseline thyroid. If everything checks out ok. Then you are clear for another year. You might try a ENT for the ear thing. I had my ears checked out and my hearing tested and am only a small space above the lowest normal in one ear. SO, I know that one day I may need a hearing aide for that ear, but thankfully not now. The hearing specialist is in his clinic and needs a prescription to do her thing for the hearing. You also need to have your vision checked at least every two years unless you detect vision changes. If you have a history of breast cancer in your, like your mother, grandmother or maternal aunts, then I would suggest needling for a mammogram. I did, but they routinely don't do one until around 40. But had been asking since I was 30. He finally agreed at 35, but it took me about a year to clear the schedule etc. But the girls are free and clear as well as the coochie. Labwork shows everything else is great also.
Remember if you don't take care of yourself then you can't take care of anyone else if you get sick or something happens to you. ANd you will be very upset if it was something simple and preventable.
You should also tell him about your aches and pains. There may be something simple for him to do or prescribe. There is no need to be in pain or suffering.
Good luck,
L.

At the very least you need a pap, routine blookwork checking cholesterol thyroid a metabolic panel and a complete blood count and a urinalysis. If your insurance pays for it a baseline mammo, unfortunately most don't unless you have a family history. If you are having pain you may need an xray but that depends on your symptoms.

You should have a yearly routine test. They will test your blood make sure that your cholesterol is normal, blood count is good, etc. By checking your blood, doctors are now able to detect some early diseases, You probably should have a mammogram done....usually at age 35 is when they suggest.
The doctors know what you need. Ask for a yearly physical....and ask the doctors any concerns you may have and go from there.
Good luck.
