Ok, so we have not lived with my hunny's family until this year and this will be our first Xmas together. There are a TON of kids and that is all I buy for I have a strict budget of $20 each kid. So far I have gotten the 15yr old girls small and appropriate make up kits and brushes, the boys game stop cards, the youngest girl an Ipod gift card (just got a touch for her bday) and the twins ... Oh the twins NO CLUE! Really, they are both quite greedy and selfish, especially for being 12yrs old. On thier sister's bday (in october) they were complaining b/c she got the Ipod Touch and "we got nothing not even a party" and this makes me NOT want to buy them a damn thing! However I can not do that so Ideas would be great! They really are not girly nor do they have activities other than driving everyone absolutly crazy! They can be sweet but only when they think they can get something from you and like I said 20/each! I also do not want to get them the exact same thing they are not the in sync lovie dovie twins, they pretty much hate each other most of the time (since toddlerhood).
I do feel like cash is a cop out, I really try to get something that they will each/all use but that may be my only option ... grumble grumble.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Turns out Gma and Gpa got them Ipod touches so we got them Itunes cards so they can load them up right away. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Would they be in to Vera Bradley? There are lots of accessories for that cost, plus different patterns. What about gift cards to stores that they shop at? You could get them to two different places. If they aren't happy with them, they can switch and/or buy $10 each at both stores! What about buying them some simple make-up. You say they aren't girly, but guaranteed, they will soon want to wear at least a little bit. (Lip gloss, cool eye color, etc.) Would they like to get their nails done? Again, I know you said they aren't girly, but a lot of girls do. Do they have a movie they want? I hope this helps, and good luck!

P.S. I love the movie gift certificate idea! No child that age hates going there!

You could get them a gift card to their favorite place. You could give them cash and let them buy what ever they want with it. My 12 year old cousin is almost the same way and she loves getting cash and gift cards so she can get exactly what she wants!

Funny how they are driving you crazy and they aren't even around. It sounds from the way you describe them they are not going to be happy with anything you give them unless it cost a lot, so I would give them each a $20 bill and call it a day. You don't have to worry and they're not going to be grateful anyway. Do you have a mall close by? You can also get them gift certificates to the mall and they can use it in any store.

I would just get them mall gift certificates. That way they can get what they want or put the $20 with other money they get toward something.
For even the pickiest kid, 20 bucks is 20 bucks.

Best wishes!

Visa gift cards. Since you're getting the other kids gift cards, seems like a good fit. They can use them anywhere.

((Although I have to say, I made a brat of myself the entire year at all of my sib's bdays when my 11th bday was cancelled. That year was the year I was finally dx'd ADHD-c. If they didn't actually get *anything* for their birthdays... that's a pretty legitimate gripe. Ditto if every other kids gets $200 spent on them and they only get $100 each. My assumption, however, is that they've just forgotten that they had a party and presents?))

Yep, get them some Movie Tickets.
Good enough.
Especially since they are so greedy as you say... NOTHING will be good enough... and even if it is... they will STILL grumble about it.

Or, Old Navy has GREAT sales and good prices on many things....

good luck,
Susan
