Lots of preschools have tuition assistance based on what your income is. I also think Denver has a program called DPP which is tax money that is used for preschoolers to go to school.
Hi,
My son will be 1 this November and I am just starting to look into preschool programs. Do any of you have advice on how to find the right preschool? I like most of the montessori and private preschools, but I doubt I can afford the tuition (from what I've seen, they're about $800/month). Any advice? I am feeling discouraged and lost as to what to do next!

Hi,
We have a wonderful preschool right next to Wash Park at St. John's Lutheran Church and School. We serve children mostly full days while their parents are working, but have some limited half days available. Your best chance of having a space in our program happens if you register in early February for the school year beginning in August. We are Qualistar rated going from a one star rating in 2007 to our current 3 star rating just received in June. Qualistar has improved our quality by looking at our learning environments, teacher interactions, parent partnerships, and staff training and education. Yes,tuition is pricey, but once your child is in Pre K (4 year old program) DPP (denver preschool program) will pay a portion of the tuition if you live in Denver. For some families this covers the majority of the tuition and for others as little as 15-20%. Our program provides Christian education and prepares your little one for school all in a safe and loving environment. Come check us out! You can call me to schedule a tour at ###-###-#### X145 (D. join a group called modmomsofdenver. Lots of the moms live near wash park, and send kids to schools around there. you can look up their website. Fun group of moms.
Also look at your local churches. I know there is one that does preschool at about University and Florida, I think. A lot of churches do a good preschool, and they are much cheaper. More like $200 a month or less. Some do one day a week preschool, for a one year old and walking. Sometimes a needed break for Mom. When you are on the playground at Wash Park, or some place, ask around. Talk to the Mom's there. I have tons of ideas here, but I live in Littleton, so too far for you.
