Worried That It Will Be Another Miscarriage

I have had blighted ovum once before I went on to have my baby girl 2 years ago.
I recently tested and it shows a positive. My doctor's appointment in only in 2 weeks.
I keep getting scared that it will be another empty sac.
Is there anything else I can do to determine if that is the case? I don't think I can wait for 2 weeks.

Thanks.

What can I do next?

I am sorry that happened to you! Unfortunately it is early and really they won't be able to see anything if at all before 6 or 7 weeks. Try to do your best and concentrate your energies on your baby girl. Keep yourself focused on other things until you can confirm. I know its hard but it is in God's hands. Blessings to you and Congrats on your pregnancy.

Untill you get examined I don't see how you will know. I am so sorry you're stressed like this. Waiting is so hard. Try to keep yourself busy. Do a big house improvement project (like reorganizing photos, or going through old papers and clothes) Something that is time consuming. It may not get your mind completely off your worries, but the time may go by faster.

I wish you the best..... Hang in there!

I like the idea of finding a book that can be supportive at a time like this. There's no stress like this stress. I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and went on to have two healthy, full-term babies. The miscarriage definitely caused me major stress in the subsequent pregnancy. There's no magic pill to make it go away. But I did have a supportive OB who scheduled me for ultrasounds every 2 weeks after the first visit (at 8 weeks). I really helped to hear that heartbeat every 2 weeks. Tell your doctor you're feeling a lot of stress. And at the same time do what you can to minimize it.
I also recommend NOT spending a lot of time on the internet. It will make you crazy.
Thinking positive thoughts of healthy, beautiful baby floating joyfully inside you, already loving its Mama.

There really is nothing you can do. I have had 3 healthy full-term pregnancies and 4 miscarriages. There was no way to prevent the miscarriages and no way to know ahead of time. I know how hard it is to "relax" because I spent EVERY day until I heard a healthy heartbeat after 10 weeks worrying. Just think positive! The book "Supernatural Childbirth" really helped be in those early weeks!

There is no way to know, sorry. My first pregnancy was a blighted ovum, my second was a miscarriage at about 9 weeks after we had seen the heartbeat. The third pregnancy is now 9 years-old! Hang in there!

I completely agree with MW. I had 4 miscarriages, 3 were confirmed blighted ovum, and now we have 3 healthy children under the age of 4! How far along are you do you think? Just tell/ask your doctor you want an ultrasound at 6 weeks along to see the heartbeat to ease your mind. Hopefully, he will understand.
In the meantime, pray and relax and think on positive things "I will carry this baby to full term and it will be a healthy baby." Just roll that over and over again in your mind and that will help your nerves. You have to fight against negative thoughts and past experience. Believe and trust and wait. :) That is what I have had to do. We are trying for #4 and I still have to work on it!

(BTW: I grew up in Hayward CA! I miss Callie sometimes, especially the food!)
