Hello everyone!

I'm a single mom and looking for a part time job that I can do from home. Any ideas? I have a BA in History and taught high school social studies in public school for three years. I have worked as a tutor for english, science and math the last several years but I would like to stay home in the coming year. I am currently working on my master's degree and would like to continue to stay home so that I can homeschool my boys who will be in kinder and 3rd grade. I'm interested in editing, reading, writing or anything else that will pay well enough to be done on a part time basis from home. Thanks!

I am a freelance writer and editor, but I got into it through my existing professional contacts after many years in the profession. I work part-time, but my kids have always been in daycare or school while I work. This isn't the type of work that can be done while kids are at home (at least, not without a nanny there). You need solid blocks of quiet work time.

If you don't want to pay for childcare, your best bets are the party sales type of jobs that can be worked around your schedule. I couldn't tell you the pay, but they may be worth investigating due to the flexibility.

Good luck!

Hi there - just looking at your background I have a couple of suggestions:
1. be a private tutor for Enlgish, science, and math so you can have students coming over to your place for sessions;
2. how about a free lance writer?

Good luck!

I work at home, part time (I have a two year old and a 5 weeks old so no time for anything else). I also used to be a teacher but I had trouble finding reliable, well paying work, with any of the freelance sites. I had a few things here and there, but nothing consistant.

When I was looking for alternatives to my expensive insurance I found Ameriplan and have been working with them since. PM me if you would like some more information. :)

I don't know if you have a Facebook Page, but I am writing a novel. One of my friends is an editor. She had my book now, and through me has several other offers. Right now she is trying to decide how to go about it all. You might just post something, you never know what will come up!
