Start looking around in your neighbors' yards. Kids grow up and people are looking to unload these, sometimes for free if you haul them off. We got ours from a neighbor whos kids outgrew theirs.
My husband and I are looking to purchase a wooden swing set for our twins this summer. We are starting our research now. Where is the best place to purchase one for UNDER $1,000? We have two boys whom we know will get a lifetime of good use out of it! Thank you in advance!

We looked at some other places, but ended up getting ours at walmart. It was way cheaper. You can get a nice one for $399. (Just type in swingset on thier website to see what's available.) Then you can spend the extra $600 on . . . I'm sure you could think of something!
We did a lot of looking when we bought ours. We ended up with a Rainbow and love it but probably not in that price range. Our second choice was the one at Costco which I think was just a little over a $1000. Sam's had one too but I thought the Costco one was better quality. We looked at Lowe's, Home Depot, & Sutherlands too. I thinked we liked the Home Depot kits the best but I don't remember why.
Hope this helps.

We have a Rainbow, but the neighbors have a similar one from Costco that was right at $1000.
