Woodbridge, NJ - Everyone Lives There!

M.6. asks from Woodbridge, NJ

I saw another poster make a comment on how all the recent folks live in Woodbridge, NJ. Just thought I would share that when I signed up, that was listed as my address automatically - I wasn't asked. I figure I could go into my profile now and fix it, but I guess until I ask a question that is area specific, it really didn't matter.

Thanks!

there was a post on this a week or two ago. Sudden influx of new members and they were all from Woodbridge, NJ.

When I signed up? there was no automatic input. how weird.

That is odd and must be something to do with the new ownership of the site.
When I signed on under the Mamasource days almost 10 years ago, it asked for a zip code and town. You had the option to use your real location or make one up I guess.

I used my real location so I could also be connected with local questions.

Thanks for the info because I was thinking a LOT of people have questions from Woodbridge, NJ!!

(Evil laugh....) For so long, so many people have made fun of NJ - now everyone is being forced to say they live there! Karma! I happen to know that some great MP posters grew up in NJ. ;-) But, as I said on the other post about it, seems like a very strange default setting.

LOL - Julie brought that up 2 weeks ago!! I thought it was odd...

interesting to hear that it was automatic. I've been here since it was mamasource, you had to put in your zip code.

For a long time, there were a whole bunch of Mt. Laurel posts, now it's Woodbridge.

The only reason it might matter besides an area-specific question, is that there are a lot of people with the same or similar names, so adding a town can help keep everyone straight, with their issues and question types sorted out in our brains.

When I put in www.mamapedia.com, before I get to my log-in page, there's a banner on the right that says "Join 214,000 mothers in Woodbridge", with an invitation to sign up. What's the deal with Woodbridge? It obviously isn't tied to my geographical location as I pretty much could not be further away from Woodbridge if I tried. Just thought that was interesting. Never noticed it before.

Huh, I've never had that on mine. I was asked my hometown when I signed up. I put OKC.
