I'm looking into getting wood floors in my family/living/dining area. I've tried the laminate before and it scratched very easily, so I don't want that. does anyone have any suggestions as to where to purchase floors, pro's and con's to look for. I may have to have them installed also, (we laid our own laminate but not sure if we will be able to do that on our own this time.) So if you can recommend services for that also I'd be grateful. what ever I get has to be durable for kids and pets, it will be in a high traffic area, and will have to be able to handle spills without damage! I've seen where the liquid seeps through in the seems and can cause damage. and of course reasonably priced is important too.
thanks in advance!

If you are looking for the most scratch resistant, laminate is probably the best with large dogs. Wood will scratch much easier than laminate will, and costs more. Wood is warmer and less noisy as well. You might consider a distressed look in wood and or laminate to hide any marks. That's my two cents. Call me if I can be of further assistance to you.
