Looking for opions on wood floor cleaners for our new house. I have a swiffer wet jet i use for mopping, but want something for dry cleaning. I don't want to run the vaccuum on the wood floors, and I think I've heard of a Swiffer, or other brand name dry mop to get hair, fur, etc. off the floor. Any one have one they love?

What can I do next?

I love the dry swiffer - grabs everything (we have a very hairy dog!!!) For wet cleaning, vinegar and water using a mop or by hand is best (dry of course aferward) - really gets the grime off and doesn't harm the floor, build up or cost much!

I also use Murphy's Oil. It always gets the job done without leaving buildup or harming the floor.

I second the Method brand cleaner. I buy it a Target and it's the only cleaner that I have found that doesn't leave any build up and the almond scent is nice too. Nice and shiny always! :)

I use y Dyson (on the bare floor) setting all of the time on our wood floors (big furry dog here!) and I never use my dry Swiffer anymore.

Two words ... Swiffer Vac. Best thing ever invented! We have hardwood floors though out the house, one big, heavily shedding dog and four cats, as well as a crawling baby. The Swiffer Vac saves my sanity and is super easy to use. Hope that helps!

METHOD brand has a good line of wood floor cleaning products that I really like and they are nontoxic all natural cleaners. You can get it at Target, Lowes and I think any other home improvement or "target" type store. Hope this helps.

I use Murphy's Oil Soap as it is very gentle for wood floors. Here is the link so you can see what the bottle looks like. You should be able to find it at all the regular stores...target, walmart, etc.

Be careful if you go the water/vinegar route as too much vinegar could strip the wax off the floor...it happened to us before =) In fact I use just straight white vinegar to take the waxing coating off of apples, cucumbers, etc.
